Este artículo se desprende de un trabajo más amplio de investigación narrativa con docentes de una escuela rural de educación básica, en México, que tiene por objetivo coproducir, entre docentes e investigadores, un libro sobre la historia de conformación de dicha escuela. Evoca la memoria colectiva por medio de relatos docentes del hacer educativo cotidiano, sobre la construcción del espacio escolar, en escenario rural y en un contexto histórico particular. Como parte de los resultados de esta investigación está la identificación de mundos posibles, que como núcleos temáticos de sentido dentro de los relatos, permiten inspirar y orientar la práctica docente dentro de la escuela. Con entrevistas abiertas a los miembros de la comunidad escolar y la generación de diálogos, se recuperaron los relatos de la labor profesional de siete docentes, quienes expresaron sus sueños, aspiraciones y acciones educativas con sus estudiantes y la comunidad de padres en relación con las acciones desplegadas por ellos para la construcción del espacio escolar al que pertenecen – por ejemplo, el establecimiento de un comedor escolar, la construcción de los espacios físicos necesarios para la labor educativa (aulas suficientes para cada grado, canchas de juegos, plaza cívica, salones de cómputo) y logro de condiciones de seguridad (barda perimetral, organización de vigilancia y comisiones de seguridad). Los mundos posibles de los docentes se recrean en las formas autogestivas y comunitarias escolares, en fuerte vínculo con la historia y los modos de existencia de su pueblo originario.
El presente trabajo constituye un acercamiento a las tesis producidas en tres programas de posgrado en educación en dos instituciones públicas de Educación Superior del Estado de Morelos, la Universidad Pedagógica Nacional (UPN) y la Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Morelos (UAEM). El propósito del documento es mostrar los hallazgos de una revisión realizada sobre las tesis de posgrado en educación presentadas para obtención de grado entre los años 2002 y 2007 en ambas instituciones. En particular, se hace alusión a los temas, niveles y modalidades educativas, como ámbitos de estudio, que fueron atendidos en las investigaciones que reportan estas tesis. En total, se hace referencia a 109 tesis de posgrado: 42 de la UPN y 67 del Instituto de Ciencias de la Educación de la UAEM.
