There are many factors that determine the success of research students in doing their postgraduate programs. Of these are the supervisors and effective supervision. The aim of this paper is to identify the attributes of supervisors and examine elements of effective supervision from the graduate research students" perspective. In addition, the study also examines whether the means of the students" opinions on their supervisors and effective supervision differ by demographic factors (program, faculty, course structure, gender and semester). Descriptive statistics will be used to describe the sample and Pearson chi-square test will be employed to test students" opinions on their supervisors and effective supervision and their relationships with demographic factors. Our results suggest that the three most important attributes of supervisors are: supervisors should be friendly, approachable and flexible; knowledgeable and resourceful; and encourage students to work and plan independently. In addition, the results indicate that effective supervision means that supervisors are able to establish good and professional relationships with students; give support and guidance; and provide continuous motivation and inspiration. Using Pearson chi-square test, the results suggest that there are no significant differences in means between attributes of supervisors and effective supervision based on program, faculty, course structure, gender and semester.
Several publications have been written and reviewed to urge efforts reducing the rate of infant morbidity and mortality throughout the world. Scientific innovations and research for efficient immunization has been able to reduce the spread of poliomyelitis across the world and make this vaccine preventable disease a history. However, immunization coverage and poliomyelitis disease eradication seems to be cost effective and has continued to falter in Nigeria (Nnenna et al, 2013)

Quality of Life (QoL) measures provide a sense of how people's lives are going through the activities and interactions between their circumstances and psychological resources. This measurement/ evaluation is a valuable tool and a precondition for planning to improve the socio-economic QoL or Wellbeing of the people surveyed. Researchers conducted a qualitative study to know the economic QoL of Bangladeshi migrant construction workers in Terengganu, who have immigrated for less than ten years in Malaysia. Researchers triangulated the survey by two focus group discussions, 19 in-depth interviews, and observations of four spots. The research used Atlas ti to conduct the thematic analysis of the primary data. The result of the study shows that the workers are mostly in adverse QoL with the effect of freedom, functioning, facilitator, and financial management. The study finally recommends, Community-based work permit, trade union, and digital financial system to ensure more freedom to improve the economic QoL of the migrant Bangladeshi construction workers.
In line with a developing and developed nation, Malaysia offers educational opportunities to all walks of life regardless of age, status, and gender. In this regard, people with disabilities are not marginalized for higher education. Opportunities for the disabled to pursue higher education can be achieved with the same rights as other normal students. As such, the provision of disabilityfriendly accessibility is an essential element of a public university for the convenience of students with disabilities to university life. Emphasis on the provision of disabled-friendly facilities is important as this facility is the right they should have. In addition, the government also provides for the disabled to further their education at public and private higher education. Therefore, the provision of facilities at the institute level should not be an issue that prevents the disabled from gaining an education. The objective of this study was to study the barriers to facilities faced by disabled students in public universities. This study was conducted at a public university located in the state of Selangor. The method used was qualitative and in-depth interviews were conducted with selected informants. The findings of this study indicate that there is a need for improvements to facilities at public universities for the use of students with disabilities.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
