Islamic banks compete with traditional (non-Islamic) banks for customers. This paper aims to provide insight into why some Muslims choose to bank with Islamic banks in Pakistan, while others do not. Specifically, it addresses the questions: to what extent are trust and confidence active influencers in the decision making process, are they differentiated or are they one of the same? Also how does the Pakistani collective cultural context further complicate the application of these concepts. For the purposes of this paper trust refers to people and their interpersonal or social relations whereas confidence concerns institutions such as banks. Drawing on interviews with Muslim consumers in Pakistan this study provides further insight into consumer behaviour within financial services and specifically Islamic banking and contributes to our theoretical understanding of the concepts of trust and confidence.

Purpose This study aims to examine the results of structural equation modelling in applying unified theory of acceptance and use of technology in adopting Islamic Fintech among millennials in Malaysia via measurement and structural models. Design/methodology/approach A total of 418 valid responses have been obtained from Malaysians who are using Islamic Fintech. Before the data is analysed into measurement and structural modelling preliminary analysis such as common method bias has been conducted. Findings All the requirements for model fit in this study have been achieved. Four exogenous constructs are performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence and facilitating condition. The mediating construct is behavioural intention, whereas the endogenous variable is user adoption. All exogenous constructs show significant p-values except for effort expectancy. Practical implications This study offers important implications, specifically for the digital economy that is currently making its way throughout every aspect of human life, namely, social, religious, financial transaction, entertainment and others. The impact of the digital economy can be traced through the emergence of Fintech. The adoption of Islamic Fintech is one of the least discussed areas academically, therefore, this study is considered necessary to explore the prediction of consumer behaviour in Islamic Fintech adoption as a part of the digital economy in Malaysia. Originality/value This study fills the perceived gap in the existing financial technology literature by assessing Islamic financial technology adoption via measurement and structural modelling.

Halal has become the lifestyle of Muslim consumers in the world. As the Muslim populations increasing throughout the world, the awareness on consuming Halal also goes in the same parallel trend. In Malaysia, Halal food certification and management are given a lot of attention by the consumers, producers and regulators. However, Halal is not only covering only food consumption but also for nonfood products such as cosmetics, toiletries, pharmaceuticals, leather products, perfume and fragrances, brushes and so on. The services such as banking, entertainment, tourism, and logistic also related to Halal requirements. Thus, this research paper aims to investigate the awareness and perception of Muslim consumers on non-food Halal products and to identify the factors that influence the awareness and perception of consumers to the non-food Halal products. Moreover, this research also aims to confirm whether the identified variables have the strong influence to the level of awareness and perception of Muslim consumers on non-food Halal product. The samples of the research consisted of 236 government servants in the state of Selangor. The data are collected through questionnaire and analysed using the descriptive statistics, factor analysis and multiple regression. The results of the study revealed that the factors derived from factor analysis are: Halal information (X 1), Availability (X2), Halal on media (X3) and Halal programmes(X4). Based on correlation and regression analysis, it is predicted that all factors are significant except for Halal programmes (X4). This study implicates that Halal-related programmes by related organisations in Halal industry is still lacking in promoting the Halal awareness and perception on non-food products.

Muslim populations increasing throughout the world, the awareness on consuming Contribution/ Originality:This study is one of very few studies which have investigated the awareness and perception of Muslim consumers on Halal cosmetics and personal care products. A lot of studies have been done on Halal food and its related industries including Islamic finances, but less on non-food.Halal cosmetics and personal care products are currently in attention and demand from the consumers and producers as well. Thus, this study intends to investigate the factors that influence the awareness and perception of Muslim consumer on Halal cosmetics and personal care products.

FinTech, or financial technology, is an emerging technology in financial transaction. It is disruptive technology which is changing the banking behavior for stakeholders. The thriving emergence of FinTech not only affects the conventional finance industry but also Islamic finance industry, as Islamic finance sector is also embracing FinTech as part of financial revolution. Thus, the Islamic FinTech emerges as faith-based FinTech. This is because Islamic FinTech claimed to comply with Shariah principle in their mechanism and smart contract. There is limited discussion on smart contract and Islamic FinTech and its Shariah principles. Hence, the Shariah principle in smart contract of Islamic FinTech need to be addressed. This chapter tries to delve into the smart contract concept in Islamic FinTech and Shariah principles in the mechanism. The review found that smart contract is currently in the early stage and so is Islamic FinTech. The scholars agreed that FinTech is a Maslahah (interest) to mankind's benefit. However, the smart contract is still in discussion and review.
