Bahasa Inggris di SMP berisi tentang teks singkat tentang deskripsi, naratif, dan prosedural. Idealnya, para siswa diberikan teks bahan ajar yang dekat dengan kehidupan mereka. Kearifan lokal yang ada pada daerah siswa dapat menjadi media belajar yang otentik bagi siswa. Di sisi lain, guru-guru Bahasa Inggris, khususnya pada jenjang SMP di Kabupaten Tanah Laut sebagian besar belum terbiasa mengembangkan bahan ajar yang bermuatan kearifan lokal. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini memiliki tujuan agar guru-guru Bahasa Inggris yang ada di Kabupaten Tanah Laut dapat memodifikasi, membuat, dan mengaplikasikan bahan ajar berbasis kearifan lokal daerahnya dalam proses pengajaran dan pembelajaran. Sasaran kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah Guru-guru Bahasa Inggris SMP yang tergabung dalam MGMP Bahasa Inggris se-Kabupaten Tanah Laut yang berjumlah 50 orang. Metode yang digunakan pada pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah kualitatif. Hasil pelatihan ini berupa bahan ajar yang meliputi teks deskriptif, naratif, dan prosedural berbasis kearifan lokal Kabupaten Tanah Laut. Bahan ajar dibuat oleh para guru MGMP Bahasa Inggris tingkat SMP Kabupaten Tanah laut. Bahan ajar yang dihasilkan oleh para guru adalah berupa 3 tipe teks bacaan yang dipelajari siswa pada level SMP dan sesuai dengan kearifan lokal yang ada di KabupatenTanah Laut. Teks-teks yang dihasilkan diaplikasikan pada proses pengajaran dan pembelajaran di dalam kelas oleh guru-guru Bahasa Inggris di Kabupaten Tanah Laut. Jadi, ketersediaan dan pengaplikasian bahan ajar yang berupa teks-teks bermuatan kearifan lokal yang dibuat oleh para guru memudahkan siswa dalam proses belajar secara otentik dan juga memudahkan siswa dalam menerapkan pengetahuan sesuai dengan keadaan dan lingkungan di Kabupaten Tanah Laut. English in junior high contains short texts on description, narrative, and procedural. Ideally, students are given the text of teaching materials that are close to their lives. Local wisdom in the student area can be an authentic learning medium for students. On the other hand, English teachers, especially on junior high school level in Tanah Laut Regency, are mostly not accustomed to developing teaching materials related to local wisdom. This community is aimed to give opportunity to English teachers in Tanah Laut Regency to modify, create, and apply local wisdom teaching materials in the teaching and learning process. 50 English teachers of junior high school are members of English MGMP of junior high school in Tanah Laut Regency. The method used in this community service is qualitative. The workshop's result is in the form of teaching materials, which include descriptive, narrative, and procedural texts based on local wisdom of Tanah Laut Regency. Teaching materials were created by English teachers of English MGMP of junior high school in Tanah Laut Regency. The resulting texts are implemented in the teaching and learning process in the classroom by English teachers in Tanah Laut Regency. Teaching materials produced by the English teachers are in the form of three genres of reading texts that students learn on the level of junior high school, and they are also in accordance with the local wisdom in Tanah Laut Regency. English teachers of junior high school apply the resulting texts on the teaching and learning process in the classroom. It can be concluded that the availability and application of teaching materials in the form of local wisdom texts created by English teachers enable students to learn materials authentically and also help students apply the knowledge that fits with the condition and environment in Tanah Laut Regency.
Kurangnya pemahaman mengenai penyusunan proposal dan laporan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) di masa pandemi Covid 19 ini membuat pelaksanaan PTK berbeda dengan kondisi sebelum Pandemi. Hal ini dikarenakan proses belajar mengajar biasanya dilakukan secara tatap muka langsung namun adanya situasi pandemi maka pembelajaran dilakukan secara daring. Kondisi ini membuat para guru masih bingung dalam hal pembuatan PTK yang pas di masa Pandemi. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah untuk memberikan pendampingan tentang penulisan proposal PTK di Masa Pandemi Covid 19 untuk guru-guru Bahasa Inggris agar para guru dapat menghasilkan proposal PTK pada saat Pandemi Covid 19. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat dilaksanakan di SMAN 1 Banjarbaru dengan 25 peserta pada tanggal 31 Mei – 4 Juni 2021 selama 5 hari. Adapun hasil yang bisa didapatkan oleh para guru dari pelatihan ini adalah membantu para guru dalam menentukan komponen-komponen yang tepat dalam penelitian, membantu para guru untuk dapat merumuskan masalah yang sesuai dengan situasi dan kondisi di kelas, mensosialisasikan kepada guru beberapa tools untuk membantu dalam penulisan proposal PTK seperti: Mendeley, Turnit-In, Grammar Checker, dan Google Docs, meningkatkan kemampuan para guru untuk membuat referensi penelitian yang bagus dan terbaru serta bagaimana mensitasi referensi terbaru dalam penulisan proposal PTK, membuat para guru memahami pedoman dan format penulisan PTK yang benar sehingga para guru lebih termotivasi dalam menyusun proposal PTK. Pelatihan PTK pada masa pandemi membuat pengetahuan para guru tentang penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) bertambah sehingga para guru lebih berinovasi untuk membuat topik-topik yang menarik untuk penelitian mereka di masing-masing kelas. The lack of information and understanding regarding preparing proposals and Class Action Research reports during the COVID-19 pandemic makes the implementation very different from CAR in face-to-face/offline situations, as usual. This is because the teaching and learning process is usually carried out face-to-face, but learning is done online due to the pandemic situation. In addition, when carrying out CAR, the teachers are still confused in terms of implementation. The purpose of this community service for give accompaniment on how to write CAR proposals in the Covid-19 pandemic to the English teachers; thus, they can write CAR proposals in Covid 19 situation. This community service was conducted in SMAN 1 Banjarbaru with 25 participants for five days from May 31- to June 4, 2021. The results that teachers from this training can obtain are helping teachers in determining the correct components in research, helping teachers to be able to formulate problems that are following the situation and conditions in the classroom, socializing with the teacher's several tools to assist in CAR proposal writing such as Mendeley, Turnit-In, Grammar Checker, and Google Docs, also improving the ability of teachers to make good citations and cite the latest references in CAR proposal writing, In addition, this community service also makes the teachers understand the guidelines and good CAR writing formats so that the teachers more motivated in preparing CAR proposals. This training makes the teachers know more information about how to start classroom action research in Pandemic situations. In addition, the teachers are also more creative and innovative to make exciting research topics in every class.
This study aimed to figure out the types of illocutionary acts produced by a lecturer in online classroom interaction and the functions of the illocutionary acts. This research applied a descriptive qualitative design by involving a lecturer of the English Language Department of Lambung Mangkurat University. The data was collected by using an observation sheet, interview guide, and recording which was analyzed following the steps namely data reduction and data display. The result showed that the lecturer produced four kinds of illocutionary acts in online classroom interaction. There were 275 utterances of illocutionary acts conveyed by the lecturer during the teaching and learning comprising of 165 directive data, 86 expressive data, 23 representative data, and 1 commissive data. Moreover, the findings showed that there were three kinds of illocutionary functions based on 250 data collected. They are 161 competitive data, 86 convivial data, and 3 collaborative data. The lecturer also used questions in the teaching and learning process to engage students in the discussion and assist the lecturer in assessing the students' knowledge on the lesson materials. This finding implies that further research is needed by expanding the focus of speech acts to obtain more comprehensive data about speech acts in online classroom interaction.
Tujuan kegiatan ini ialah meningkatkan kemampuan guru membuat RPP berbasis keterampilan, agar RPP yang dihasilkan menjadi lebih kreatif dan inovatif dalam menunjang proses pembelajaran di kelas. Sasaran kegiatan ini adalah guru-guru MGMP Bahasa Inggris SMK di kota Banjarbaru yang berjumlah 30 orang. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian ini adalah metode kualitatif berupa pemaparan teori–teori kemudian dilanjutkan dengan pengaplikasian teori tersebut. Adapun hasil dari pengabdian ini ialah adadanya wawasan baru bagi para guru dalam membuat RPP yang baik, benar, kreatif dan sesuai dengan kurikulum dan silabus SMK. Kegiatan ini juga menjadi sarana meningkatkan kemampuan guru dalam berkreasi membuat dan mendesain perangkat pembelajaran sendiri. Pelatihan ini juga mengajarkan guru–guru cara mendesain materi yang berkaitan dengan dunia nyata sehingga para siswa dapat menerapkan materi ajar yang diperoleh dalam kesehariannya. This activity aims to improve teachers' ability to make skills-based lesson plans so that the resulting lesson plans become more creative and innovative in supporting the learning process in the classroom. This activity target is MGMP English Vocational teachers in the city of Banjarbaru, totaling 30 people. The method used in this service is qualitative in the form of exposure to theories, then proceeding with the theory's application. This dedication is the existence of new insights for teachers in making lesson plans that are good, correct, creative, and following the curriculum and syllabus of SMK. This activity is also a means to improve teachers' ability to be creative in making and designing their learning tools. This training teaches teachers how to create material related to the real world so that students can apply teaching material obtained in their daily lives.
