O objetivo deste trabalho é realizar uma reflexão acerca da 3ª lei de Kepler, ou lei dos períodos, para além de seu âmbito con-vencional - sistemas gravitacionais -, evidenciando a possibilidade de sua aplicação a outros sistemas em que exista uma força central dependente do inverso da distância ao quadrado, como ocorre no átomo de hidrogênio de Bohr, descrito pela interação elétrica. De fato, há certa similaridade entre a equação que permite calculá-la e a equação que possibilita o cálculo da força gravitacional newtoniana. A escolha do átomo de hidrogênio de Bohr se deve ao fato de sua simplicidade estrutural: um próton no núcleo e um elétron em órbita. Ademais, vale ressaltar que o modelo de Bohr é estruturado com base em conceitos clássicos, ainda que englobe a noção quântica de que os níveis de energia, ou os raios das órbitas, são discretos. O artigo faz também uma breve revisão histórica sobre as construções da 3ª lei de Kepler e do modelo atômico de Bohr.
