O mirtileiro Vaccinium ashei (Ericaceae), nativo do Hemisfério Norte, requer cerca de 500 horas de frio (temperaturas inferiores a 7,2ºC) para superar a dormência. Em Santa Catarina, o município de Campo Alegre é apropriado para a fruticultura de clima temperado. Visando conhecer as relações de polinização, verificaramse diferenças morfológicas de três variedades de mirtileiros: Bluegem, Climax e Florida. A apifauna visitante foi coletada para identificação. Realizaram-se cinco campanhas de coletas (35 horas de amostragem). Colheram-se 10 frutos de cada variedade estudada (para peso, medida horizontal e vertical). Foram amostrados 832 indivíduos de abelhas, de 14 táxons e três famílias (Andrenidae, Apidae e Halictidae). Das espécies coletadas, as abelhas nativas que têm potencial para polinização do mirtileiro são as do gênero Plebeia, que podem entrar na flor, assim como espécies pequenas de Halictidae, que têm capacidade de fazer buzzing, característica esta também das abelhas Bombus morio e B. pauloensis. A variedade Climax recebeu mais táxons de abelhas (10) do que as outras variedades (Florida, 8; Bluegem, 7). O peso das frutas e as medidas horizontal e vertical das três variedades mostraramse significativamente diferentes, em diferentes combinações. Beija-flores foram observados visitando as flores do mirtileiro.
Foi estudada a influência dos fatores abióticos sobre a atividade externa de Melipona bicolor schencki, em Santa Catarina, pela observação do movimento externo, por 12 meses, com registro da temperatura e da umidade relativa. As atividades iniciaram[1]se mais tarde no outono e no inverno (6h34 e 6h15) e mais cedo na primavera e no verão (4h48 e 4h55) e finalizaram mais tarde na primavera e no verão (19h15 e 18h54) e mais cedo no outono e no inverno (18h02 e 18h). Na primavera, as abelhas voaram por 14 horas, no verão por 13 e no outono e no inverno por 12. Os limiares de temperatura para início de atividade foram, na primavera e no verão, 19 e 16ºC e, no outono e no inverno, 12 e 14ºC, e os de umidade relativa foram, na primavera e no outono, 40 e 31% e, no verão e no inverno, 47%. Ocorreram atividades de 12 a 39ºC e de 31 a 97% de umidade relativa. Em todas as estações, a maior coleta foi de néctar e/ou água, seguida da de pólen. Só houve coletas de barro e de resina e remoção de detritos acima de 20ºC. As correlações para temperatura foram majoritariamente negativas, e para umidade relativa, positivas.
Registrou-se a coleta de látex por Trigona spinipes em cactos, no Jardim Botânico da Univille, do outono à primavera de 2021. Foram anotados os fatores abióticos temperatura, umidade relativa (UR) e luminosidade. Houve variação no horário de coleta em relação às estações. A abundância das abelhas sobre os cactos decresceu de maio a novembro. Euphorbia cooperi foi a planta mais visitada, seguida por E. canariensis e E. grandicornis. No outono, o tempo médio de permanência de abelhas sobre os cactos, para E. canariensis, foi 25:17, em E. cooperi 33:34, em E. grandicornis 10 minutos, e a duração da ida e volta das abelhas para o cacto, para E. cooperi, foi 16:30, para E. canariensis 27 minutos, não havendo dados para E. grandicornis. No inverno, para E. cooperi, o tempo médio foi de 21:48, não havendo dados para E. grandicornis e E. Canariensis, e a duração da ida e volta, para E. cooperi, foi de 14:40, não havendo dados para E. canariensis. Na primavera, a única permanência foi em E cooperi (44 minutos). Para as abelhas, houve variação de atratividade, entre as espécies de cacto, sazonalmente. Verificou-se correlação positiva com horário e temperatura, no outono e inverno, para E. canariensis e E. cooperi.
