A new pre-molded organic package with optical fiber guide pipe has been developed to meet the demand of significant package cost reduction in subscriber systems. The new pre-molded package is composed ofa new organic material which has high anti-moisture reliability. The new pre-molded package has not degraded after reliability tests including thermal shock, temperature cycling and PCT of 0 to 100C I 500 cycle, -40 to 85C I 500 cycle and 121C I 2atm, respectively. The new developed pre-molded package with the guide pipe can be used in the subscriber systems with low-cost effect and high reliability.
The glass-coated melt spinning of Fe-base alloy was examined to prepare higher toughness filaments by regulating the alloy element. High toughness Fe58.8Co5Cr15Mn10Ci 2B8Ti0.5C0 7 filaments having a high tensile strength of 2.1 GPa combined with elongation of 23.7% were produced by this method. The filahad a mixed structure of bcc and fcc phases, the two phases being distributed homogeneously in the filament. The elongation increased with increasing proportion of the fcc phase. The fcc phase was formed by a strict spinning condition such as spun at a low winding speed with thin coated glass. By the subsequent heat treatment, the mixed structure transformed into a single bcc phase and the elongation decreased drastically. The metastable fcc phase played an important role in the high toughness of the filaments.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
