We provide an exhaustive numerical exploration of the predictions of loop quantum cosmology (LQC) with a post-bounce phase of inflation for the primordial power spectrum of scalar and tensor perturbations. We extend previous analysis by characterizing the phenomenologically relevant parameter space and by constraining it using observations. Furthermore, we characterize the shape of LQC-corrections to observable quantities across this parameter space. Our analysis provides a framework to contrast more accurately the theory with forthcoming polarization data, and it also paves the road for the computation of other observables beyond the power spectra, such as non-Gaussianity.
According to standard Poynting vector arguments, energy in a circuit flows from the batteries to the resistors, not through the connecting wires, but through empty space between the wires. The computer simulation CircuitSurveyor helps to visualize this counterintuitive fact. The simulation also demonstrates the electric fields present near a circuit.
Interference of particles is one of the central phenomena of quantum mechanics. The computer program InterferenceSimulator demonstrates two-slit Fresnel interference patterns with one, the other, or both slits open. A magnetic flux situated between the two slits allows the demonstration of the Aharonov–Bohm effect. Simulations with short de Broglie wavelengths illustrate the classical limit of quantum mechanics. Because of the universality of wave phenomena, this program also demonstrates the geometrical-optics limit of wave optics for small wavelengths.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
