O objetivo deste trabalho é contribuir para as discussões sobre o projeto desenvolvimentista e neoliberal pautado na criação de uma aerotrópolis no Vetor Norte da Região Metropolitana de Belo Horizonte em Minas Gerais- o Projeto Aerotrópole Mineira - e na manutenção das atividades minerárias em suas proximidades. Lógicas diferenciadas de acumulação de capital expressas num mesmo território protegido por legislação federal: a Área de Proteção Ambiental (APA) Carste de Lagoa Santa. Buscamos rastrear controvérsias entre os projetos aeroportuário e minerário e a legislação de conservação ambiental da região, apontando fissuras e caminhos de pesquisa.
Na Região Metropolitana de Belo Horizonte (RMBH) um dos vetores de maior expansão urbana é o denominado Vetor Norte. Nesse território marcado pela presença de áreas minerárias, condomínios de luxo e do Aeroporto Internacional Tancredo Neves encontrase uma das áreas de maior vulnerabilidade socioambiental do estado de Minas Gerais, o Carste de Lagoa Santa. Embora existam dispositivos como unidades de conservação no território e uma grande diversidade de planejamentos e legislações, os impactos antrópicos continuam sendo significativos tanto sobre os atores humanos (especialmente os moradores) quanto sobre os atores não humanos (ecossistemas, relevo, solo, hidrografia). O objetivo do presente artigo é apontar e compreender as sobreposições existentes entre distintas legislações e instrumentos de planejamento urbano no território da Área de Proteção Ambiental (APA) Carste de Lagoa Santa, a partir de uma breve cartografia do território. Assim, apesar da comprovada vulnerabilidade socioambiental da Carste de Lagoa Santa, no Vetor Norte da RMBH, a desarticulação entre legislações de planejamento urbano municipal, metropolitano e de outras instâncias para região acentua os desafios de preservação de áreas vulneráveis.
