Ulkus diabetik merupakan salah satu komplikasi diabetes yang sulit untuk disembuhkan dan dapat berakhir pada amputasi organ yang terkait pada luka tersebut. Prevalensi kejadian ulkus diabetik menunjukkan kecenderungan peningkatan setiap tahun. Akan tetapi, sampai saat ini sediaan topikal untuk penyembuhan luka diabetes masih sangat terbatas. Pada dua penelitian kami sebelumnya menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak C. ternatea dan gel kombinasi A. conyzoides, C. asiatica, dan Astaxanthin memberikan efektifitas penyembuhan luka diabetes. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektifitas kombinasi gel ekstrak etanol A. conyzoides, C. asiatica, C. ternatea dan Astaxanthin dalam penyembuhan luka diabetes pada model hewan. Penelitian ini dilakukan terhadap 3 kelompok yaitu kelompok negatif (Basis Gel), kelompok positif (Oxoferin) dan kelompok uji (A. conyzoides 10%, C. asiatica 5%, C. ternatea 5% dan Astaxanthin 0,1%). Masing-masing kelompok terdiri dari 4 tikus. Tikus diinduksi menggunakan aloksan 200 mg/Kg BB secara intraperitonial, dan dinyatakan diabetes bila kadar gula darah >200 mg/dL. Setelah itu dilanjutkan dengan pembuatan luka sayat pada daerah punggung dengan panjang 1,5 cm dan dilakukan pemantauan penyembuhan luka selama 14 hari dilihat dari penutupan lukanya. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang siginifikan antara kelompok negatif, positif dan kelompok uji (p<0.05). Hasil persentase penyembuhan luka yaitu 41,65 %, 51,77%, 70,79% untuk kelompok negatif, positif dan uji. Gel kombinasi A. conyzoides 10%, C. asiatica 5%, C. ternatea 5% dan Astaxanthin 0,1% efektif dalam meningkatkan kecepatan penyembuhan luka diabetes.
