El objetivo de este trabajo es abrir el debate sobre las implicaciones que tiene el relativismo epistémico como una forma de entender a la actividad científica. Se busca analizar las estrategias discursivas con las cuales éste enfrenta a las posturas universalistas y racionalistas en epistemología, y ver cómo, a partir de éstas, fundamenta un programa o agenda de trabajo para aquellos que pretendan dar cuenta de cómo se construye la ciencia.En este ensayo, sostenemos que una característica de los argumentos relativistas que ha dificultado su crítica o los intentos por eludirla, es que parte de un conjunto de argumentos escépticos con los cuales combate las pretensiones universalistas y racionalistas de otras tradiciones en la filosofía de la ciencia.
