AbstractThe declaration of a Protected Natural Area (PNA) in a depressed rural zone, it is usually perceived by its inhabitants as a way to show their land to the world and the solution to all the problems that affect them. After the entry of Cabañeros Area into the elite of Spanish environmental protection in 1995, its subsequent expansion in 2005 meant for the village of Los Navalucillos the achievement of its aim, with the incorporation of the lands of the northern slope of the Rocigalgo peak. With the combination of quantitative and qualitative techniques, this paper will assess the limited socioeconomic impact of the National Park of Cabañeros in Los Navalucillos during the last thirteen years, and its relationship with the rest of the socioeconomic influenced area.
AbstractIn the XXI century, it is paradoxical the existence in Spain of several areas that are separated from their administrative units of reference, such as the municipality or the province. These irregularities have been the result of several situations such as the existence in the Hispanic Monarchy of a great number of kingdoms, principalities, dominions..., with different legal regimes. Thus, at the beginning of the nineteenth century, attempts were made to correct all this confusing network of provinces and kingdoms inherited from the Middle Ages, trying to give territorial coherence and trying to eliminate in some cases, or minimize in others, the number 122NICOLáS GARCÍA GALáN of territories separated from their province. The analysis and updating of these geographical anomalies, specifically those produced by the separation of a municipality (or part of it), in relation to its province, will be the object of the present research. These territories have reached to our days through different historical events. Most of them survive their particularity with admirable integration in their environment.
