The nuclear magnetic resonance spectrum (lH and lJF) of 1,2,3,. 4-tetrafiuorobenzene i~ ~escribed. Subspectral analysis is applied to this AA'MM'XX' system, and the duect method of analyslS IS used. for ~he part of the spectrum that cannot easily be expressed in closed form because of the two 4X4 Hamiltoman matrices. The magnitudes of the coupling constants fall within ranges of these known for similar molecules. The simultaneous appearance of JFF's ortho and a JHH ortho makes it possible to establish firmly that these two types of J's have opposite sign.
The 1H and 19F bands of the nuclear magnetic resonance spectrum of 1,2,4-trifluorobenzene have been analyzed. The principles of subspectral analysis guided the application of iteration by computer and the use of the ABC parameters of this ABCMXZ system, obtained from a totally decoupled 1H spectrum, in the assignment of all 177 observed peaks.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
