Het gebruik van pijnreducerende interventies bij kinderen kan vaccinatietwijfel verminderen. De percepties van kinderen, ouders en professionals over vaccinatiepijn van kinderen beïnvloeden hun gebruik van pijnreducerende interventies. Een overzicht van deze percepties ontbreekt. Methode: We voerden een literatuuronderzoek uit volgens de PRISMA-richtlijnen en includeerden Engelsen Nederlandstalige onderzoeken uitgevoerd in hooginkomenslanden en gepubliceerd vanaf 2010 tot juni 2022, gericht op kinderen tot 18 jaar, ouders en professionals die kinderen vaccineren en op vaccinaties die onderdeel uitmaakten van nationale vaccinatieprogramma's. Resultaten: We includeerden elf originele empirische onderzoeken. Kinderen vinden vaccinaties pijnlijk en maken zich zorgen over de pijn. Ouders en professionals zien vaccinatiepijn als noodzakelijk kwaad zonder blijvende gevolgen, al maken veel ouders zich wel zorgen over de pijn. Na scholing over vaccinatiepijn zien professionals vaccinatiepijn minder als onvermijdelijk onderdeel van de procedure en erkennen ze meer de mogelijke negatieve effecten van vaccinatiepijn. Conclusie: Percepties van kinderen, ouders en professionals over vaccinatiepijn bij kinderen verschillen. Kinderen vinden vaccinaties pijnlijk en maken zich meer zorgen dan ouders en professionals.
