A DIÉGESIS PLATÔNICADiógenes Laércio registra uma das classificações mais antigas das obras platônicas segundo uma perspectiva literária. Detendo-se longamente no tratamento aos diálogos, afirma que eles se distinguem, sob o que chama de "ponto de vista cênico", segundo três categorias: "dramáticos", "narrativos" ou "mistos".Esse registro é importante por indicar, na Antiguidade, a existência de uma classificação (tèn diaphoràn tôn dialógon prosonómasan) que se apoia no "ponto de vista formal" (tragikôs), em contraposição ao "ponto de vista filosófico" (philosóphos).Com efeito, sendo interpretados desde sua concepção como "textos filosóficos", os diálogos platônicos são obras que conjugam à arte de escrever as múltiplas preocupações que um escritor tem com relação ao estilo e à forma. Nesse sentido, o testemunho de Diógenes Laércio permite-nos supor,já na Antiguidade, a existência de uma aproximação às obras platônicas segundo critérios literários:"não se ignora que os autores distinguem e classificam diferentemente os diálogos, pois alguns diálogos eles chamam de
O Sofista é um diálogo dramático. De modo semelhante a outros diálogos platônicos, a obra começa com a cena em ação, em discurso direto, dispensando o papel de um narrador e o uso de terceira pessoa. Provavelmente por conta de seu estilo, os passos iniciais da obra (216a a 218b) são comumente tomados como “prólogo”, sendo entendidos como uma introdução ao diálogo como um todo, cuja investigação filosófica propriamente dita se iniciaria apenas a partir do passo 218b, com a busca pela definição do sofista através do método das dicotomias. Fazendo referência às noções de “prólogo” e de “proêmio”, buscamos conferir aos passos iniciais do Sofista um sentido e uma função para além de uma mera introdução. Neles, não se apresenta apenas o projeto de enquadramento do sofista, como também se pode encontrar, de algum modo já esboçado, a sua própria definição. A proposta deste trabalho é desvencilhar-se de uma leitura en passant dos passos iniciais do Sofista, pretendendo uma interpretação que evidencie o seu caráter ao mesmo tempo literário e filosófico.
<p>Partindo da ideia de que a abertura de uma obra desempenha um papel significante na economia de sua composição, este artigo apresenta uma análise das aberturas dos diálogos platônicos, evidenciando nelas o emprego da <em>mímesis </em>dramática. Além de corroborar o caráter mimético de tais textos, a presente análise possibilita indicar a posição do autor perante sua obra, bem como a construção daquele que será apto a lê-los.</p>
O presente artigo tem o objetivo de mostrar em que sentido o texto platônico está vinculado a uma espécie de evolução das formas agonísticas do drama grego, assumindo a forma particular de um agón dramático. Conhecendo as técnicas do agón no gênero dramático, Platão teria reformulado suas convenções, de acordo com as finalidades a que se propunha. Trata-se, portanto, de uma investigação sobre a apropriação platônica de uma estrutura estilística pertencente a uma tradição de discursos em que o universo agonal é expresso na forma dialogada. Para desenvolver as possíveis relações de continuidade e descontinuidade entre o agòn lógon da tragédia e a estrutura dialogada dos diálogos platônicos, propomos uma análise comparativa com base em uma cena escolhida de As Fenícias de Eurípides (v. 446-635).
