Il travaille sur la métropolisation des migrations antillaises aux Etats-Unis et a notamment publié L'Insertion socio-spatiale des Haïtiens à Miami (L'Harmattan, 2003). Nelly ROBIN Nelly Robin est chercheuse du CEPED, hébergée au laboratoire Migrinter de Poitiers. Elle travaille sur la dimension politique des migrations ouest-africaines et a notamment co-dirigé l'Atlas de l'intégration régionale en Afrique de l'Ouest (CEDEAO-CSAO/OCDE, 2006).
Le phénomène migratoire est profondément ancré dans l'histoire sociale des peuples d'Afrique de l'Ouest. Or, les migrations internationales ouest-africaines qui se sont accentuées et diversifiées ces dernières années introduisent une nouvelle donne migratoire dans les pays d'origine comme dans les pays d'accueil, tant en Afrique qu'en Europe. Dans ce contexte, un panorama statistique peut amorcer une réflexion prospective sur l'évolution des flux et la dynamique des populations migrantes.
