RESUMOEste trabalho foi preparado com o fito de facilitar, aos colaboradores de BRA-GANTIA, a citação de literatura, ao mesmo tempo simplificando a tarefa da redação. A citação de literatura, feita segundo as modernas regras biblioteconômicas, é simples, lógica, de fácil compreensão. Agrupadas aqui encontram-se tão sòmente as principais regras para uma correta citação bibliográfica. -INTRODUÇÃOÊ bastante variável a apresentação de uma bibliografia em publicações de natureza técnica. Não que existam regras variáveis, mas sim porque cada periódico estabelece as suas próprias, para o preparo de originais para publicação, e da maneira que lhe parece mais conveniente ; quando não, são os próprios autores que têm as suas.Neste pequeno artigo resumimos as normas gerais que devem ser seguidas no preparo de uma bibliografia, em trabalho técnico destinado à publicação em Bragantia. Esta revista achou de bom alvitre adotá-las, por ser de opinião que as regras biblioteconômicas não podem nem devem ser infringidas em uma "Literatura citada". A maior parte de nosso trabalho está baseada nos resultados obtidos da reunião de bibliotecários agrícolas da América Latina (41), levada a efeito em Turrialba, Costa Rica, de 17 de agosto a 4 de setembro de 1953.A "Literatura citada" que apresentamos no fim deste trabalho inclui todas as citações feitas no texto, e é um exemplo de como deve ela ser preparada para impressão. 2-REGRAS GERAISNo texto, as citações bibliográficas devem ser feitas por meio de algarismos arábicos, entre parênteses. Cada número corresponde, na "Literatura citada", a um trabalho consultado.
