Sinus histiocytosis with massive lymphadenopathy (SHML) is a rare non malignant histiocytic proliferative disorder of unknown etiology presenting with massive lymphadenopathy. These cases can often be misdiagnosed as lymphoma.Very few cases has been diagnosed on FNAC. Here we report 5 cases of Rosai -Dorfman disease presenting with massive bilateral cervical lymphadenopathy. Hence FNAC is a useful and reliable tool for the diagnosis of Rosai-Dorfman disease due to which biopsy can be avoided in these patients0
Upsurge in mucormycosis cases in the second wave of SARS CoV2 infection in India has been reported. Uncontrolled diabetes is the major predisposing risk factor for these cases. The early diagnosis and surgical intervention with medical treatment may result in good clinical outcomes. The glycaemic control in diabetic patients also favours better treatment outcome in patients suffering from mucormycosis.
