Four design parameters, the density and modulus of elasticity of both concrete and steel reinforcement of a reinforced concrete beam in addition to the TNT mass have been utilised to determine the total sensitivity indices of all involved design parameters for the stiffness and the maximum tensile damage of the concrete. Sobol's sensitivity indices has been dedicated to determining the rate and rational effects of each involving design parameter making use of both an experimental method and MATLAB codes. The numerical simulations results using LS-DYNA software have shown that the uncertain TNT mass design parameter has the highest sensitivity with a rational percentage of 40.48% and 42.39% in the variation of the stiffness and the maximum tensile damage responses respectively. While both the density and modulus of elasticity of concrete are the second and the third design parameters with sensitivity indices up to 48.77%.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
