Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSES) is most renowned measure of self-esteem and available in many languages including Urdu. 1,2 This research is conducted to analyze the psychometric properties of Urdu RSES. Data of 375 university students including 205 males and 170 females were taken from different public sector universities of Karachi, Pakistan. The respondents' age ranges from18 to 35 years. Descriptive statistics, reliability and validity coefficient were computed through Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS, Ver.21). Reliability of Urdu Rosenberg Self Esteem Scale (URSES) was inferred by Cronbach's Alpha that is 0.773 and 4 weeks test re-test correlation coefficient was 0.808. The convergent validity as analysed by correlation coefficient of URSES scores with Urdu Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (UMSPSS) (r=0.284, p<0.01); depression (r=-0.523, p<0.01); anxiety (r=-0.337, p<0.01); and stress (r=-0.407, p<0.01). Findings are suggestive of an acceptable psychometric properties of URSES and they also suggested its use in research with confidence.
State of Information Technology curriculum in the business institutions of Pakistan is distressing and indicates some gap between educational and industrial environments. The cause of such a gap is the shift of business organizations towards the e-business whereas e-learning has not yet been adopted by large number of business institutions. Information Technology in business education plays a major role in preparing a competent, business-literate, and skilled workforce. This paper addresses the gap between what is taught and what we practice in industry. This paper presents the evaluation of the curriculum of the business education in business institutions of Pakistan and tries to find the answer of whether or not the universities / institutions of the country are training the business graduates according to the needs of local and international market and industry? Answer of whether or not the business graduates are capable of delivering the required information technology skills in their working business enterprises has also been addressed in this paper by evaluating the performance of business graduates working in industry. This paper also recommends the steps one can take to reduce the gap between theory and practice and respond to the emerging trends of business technology and expectation of the clients of the world of business from the business graduates of our institutions.
Student learning attitude is a crucial element in modern education. Studying attitudes helps students' learning process. The objective of the study is to find out students' attitudes about online English teaching during the COVID-19 pandemic. The researchers used a quantitative research design for the study, and that was a descriptive study in nature, and all the female public secondary schools and students in Punjab province made up the study's population.Sample of the study comprised four hundred students from five districts of Punjab province. A questionnaire was designed to collect data from the respondents, and after data collection from four hundred secondary school students, it was analyzed through SPSS and found the statistical techniques of frequency, mean score and standard deviation. The study concluded that most English teachers provided English newspapers to their students to educate them better on the English language.
At this point, it is a well-established fact that information and communications technology (ICT) is the most valuable source of power and attractiveness behind all types of knowledge-driven businesses worldwide. The availability of good, well-organized, well-equipped computer labs and highly-trained and dedicated ICT professionals in a variety of subjects inside the educational institution is an indispensable condition for the professional application of ICT in several societal areas. Specifically, this study aims to investigate the use and acceptability of information and communication technology (ICT) in secondary schools throughout the Punjab province. Participants included high school teachers as well as students from different regions of Punjab province. The study findings investigated the constraints and flaws in the implementation of the information technology program. It also shows that other challenges, such as power outages, can obstruct students from achieving their educational objectives.
