No abstract

Thank you to all colleagues in the Department of Physiology at the Faculty of Medicine and Odontology and the Department of Physical and Sport Education (Research Group in Sport Biomechanics (GIBD)) at the Faculty of Physical Activity and Sport Sciences in the University of Valencia for kindly hosting me during a short scientific mission. I really appreciate the efficient and friendly delivery of literature from the Library for the Research Institutes within the ETH domain, especially thanks to Christine and Sandrine. I want to thank the logistic support and patience showed by Miguel Granell from the School of Doctorate and Ginesa and Adriana from the Secretary of the Department of Applied Thermodynamics at the Polytechnic University of Valencia. Thanks to all of them for being such great professionals. I cannot forget to thank all my colleagues from the IBV in Valencia, where my career and my PhD studies started and my interest for the research was woken up some years ago. Deeply thanks to my family and friends for their continuous support and affection in every situation. I specially thank to my parents and Óscar, Esmeralda and Pilar always encouraging me in the distance. They are my self-improvement and eagerness models. I really feel lucky.
