The distribution of localized levels (traps) in KRS-5 single crystals has been obtained experimentally. The depths of traps shallower than AE 5 0.43 eV have been determined by thermally stimulated depolarization on samples polarized by light in the absence of an external field (TSDLP method). The depths of traps deeper than 0.43 eV have been obtained by photon stimulated depolarization on samples also polarized with light (PSDLP method). These two new methods give the possibility to obtain very precisely and in a large interval of energy, the trap distribution, which plays an important role in photoelectrical and other non-equilibrium phenomena.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
