ResumoAnálise e avaliação de web sites do governo federal brasileiro, especificamente dos ministérios pertencentes aos setores constantes do programa Sociedade da Informação. O trabalho foi realizado mediante aplicação de lista de critérios e recomendações ergonômicas. Os critérios foram agrupados em quatro grandes quesitos: abrangência e propósito, conteúdo, planejamento visual/gráfico e funcionalidade. Concluiu-se que, com relação aos critérios adotados neste trabalho, os sites dos órgãos governamentais devem procurar maior adequação às recomendações ergonômicas.

Governmental web sites, a virtual esplanade AbstractWeb sites of Brazilian federal government were analysed and evaluated, particularly the sites of the ministries that are part of the Information Society Programme. A checklist based on ergonomic principles was established. Evaluative criteria were clustered into four large main headings: scope and purpose; content; graphics and multimedia design; workability. It points out that the governamental agencies should improve their web sites aimed at a better adequacy to ergonomic standards.

Na parada de ônibus, à espera da tecnologia social* Awaiting for social technology at the bus stop Resumo Considerações sobre o design de uma parada de ônibus são usadas neste trabalho como exemplo e elemento introdutório para se avaliar o conceito de tecnologia social (TS). Tal expressão é discutida e utilizada em países latino-americanos, como o Brasil, o México, a Argentina e o Uruguai. O texto inclui ponderações sobre quais identidades, discursos, imagens e valores podem estar associados à TS. Explicita-se como a TS e diferentes adjetivações da tecnologia ajudaram na promoção de ideário que clama por uma abordagem construtivista da ciência e tecnologia, diferenciada e compassada às constantes transformações e exigências de cada realidade local, com foco na qualidade de vida das pessoas. Ciência, tecnologia e sociedade são lembradas neste artigo como um movimento social propiciador de reflexões sobre o que distingue uma visão instrumentalista, determinista, substantivista ou construcionista no âmbito da sociologia da tecnologia.
Este trabalho corresponde ao exercício de conclusão da disciplina “Tópicos Especiais em História Social – Fronteira, Recursos Naturais e Conservação da Natureza”, oferecida na Universidade de Brasília. Segue-se a proposta de inter-relacionar e buscar um posicionamento frente ao ideário dos textos debatidos em sala de aula. Abordam-se alguns aspectos a respeito de como as diferenças na construção do conceito de fronteira, ao longo do tempo, podem servir como demarcações para uma busca de posicionamento sobre se fomos, se procuramos ser ou se seremos ambientalistas algum dia.Palavras chave: Fronteira; Ambientalismo; Conservação dos Recursos Naturais; Proteção do Meio Ambiente.
