W poszukiwaniu subiektywnego autorskiego głosu Korczarowska podejmuje próbę zaadaptowania teorii eseju filmowego (Laura Rascaroli) do celów analizy. Artykuł stanowi szczegółową interpretację Rosyjskiej arki i Frankofonii ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem relacji między esejem filmowym a architekturą. Traktując filmy Sokurowa jako architektoniczne eseje filmowe (Penelope Haralambidou), Korczarowska koncentruje się na filmowych reprezentacjach „doświadczenia muzeum” i związkach owego doświadczenia z problematyką upamiętniania i historycznej traumy. W przekonaniu autorki muzealne filmy Sokurowa mogą bowiem stanowić paradygmatyczny przykład potwierdzający tezę Haralambidou, że architektoniczne eseje filmowe w sposób oczywisty łączą ludzką potrzebę upamiętniania z architekturą.
W artykule omówiono wybrane filmy młodzieżowe (zrealizowane w Reaganowskiej erze politycznego i kulturowego neokonserwatyzmu) jako fenomen socjologiczny problematyzujący kwestię implikowanego odbiorcy.
Według Thomasa Elsaessera teoretyczna koncepcja abiektu Julii Kristevej przekroczyła granice psychoanalizy, zyskując krytyczne wsparcie w naukach społecznych i kulturowych jako tryb oporu wykraczający poza problem bycia ofiarą. Aby przetestować aplikowalność koncepcji Kristevej do celów analizy filmu, autorka wybrała adaptację Wichrowych Wzgórz (2011) Andrei Arnold. Autorka bada, do jakiego stopnia film może skonfrontować nas z trzema zasadniczymi trybami abiekcji: abiektalną przemocą, abiektalnym językiem i abiektalnym ja.
The article deals with metaphysical aspects of dystopian vision of posthuman and racist socjety presented in Kazuo Ishiguro’s novel Never Let Me Go and its film adaptation. The controversial issue of cloning provokes fundamental questions of what constitutes our existence as human beings and what is the source of overpowering sense of solitude and orphanhood in the “fatherless” world. These questions are being answered in the context of biopolitics (Foucault, Habermas) and its ethical consequences. The paper is intended as a contribution to the ongoing discussion of the human condition and our relation to other beings: machines, animals and… clones.
Wybrane filmy zostały umieszczone w kontekście kognitywizmu (Bordwell, Thompson) i narratologii (McHale).
