The focal point of the paper is an attempt to identify the most effective way to offer the information about BRICS-related subjects. BRICS organization has already become the topical issue of our research. This paper highlights the research of the best way to deliver BRICS messages. Communication plays a pivotal role in our present-day life. It is essential for a wide range of technologies. Therefore, our study has several objectives, i.e., to describe the difference between the Internet-oriented communication and the communication supported by television and press. These data may be useful for a more effective coverage of BRICS-related subjects. Another important objective is the analysis of implied information given on official BRICS-related websites. The data collection procedure is as follows. The central concern of the paper is the best media format which we tried to calculate using the data from official BRICS summit websites in Russia and China. These data are compared with the results of our own survey which we conducted with the help of a specially designed questionnaire. The experiment does not include any ethical issues but is purely descriptive in its nature and contains the information about data processing. The target audience of the research are professionals engaged in the field of BRICS news coverage, BRICS analytics and BRICS expertise.
The paper features the data obtained from the analysis of a video strip with the help of ELAN 5.4, the free software developed by the experts from Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics, the Language Archive, Nijmegen, the Netherlands. The software enables to annotate video and audio strips, describing pauses, the duration of utterances, gestures, pronunciation and other linguistic and extralinguistic factors. The speaker in the video – South African President Cyril Ramaphosa – delivers his official address to the leaders of the 10th BRICS leadership summit in Sandton, Johannesburg on July 26, 2018. BRICS is a powerful link of a global financial architecture. Its main targets are to mobilize resources for sustainable development projects of BRICS and to facilitate the global growth of multilateral and regional financial, educational and industrial institutions. The material and the speaker for the analysis belong to the domain of BRICS top level politics. South Africa was the main host of the leadership summit in 2018. South African President Cyril Ramaphosa in his speech stressed the significance of the fourth industrial revolution highlighted by Professor Klaus Schawb at the World Economic Forum in Davos in 2016. The notion of the revolution appeared in the South African leader's address 7 times. Nevertheless, the authors of the paper see more messages hidden between the lines of the South African President's address. In the paper it is argued that BRICS architecture has a right to be interpreted as an attempt of keeping the world away from further plunging into environmental degradation, the development of critical thinking and innovation among BRICS citizens. The purpose of the paper is to demonstrate the method of pauses analysis to reveal a more complex mixture of speakers' visions. Long pauses are meaningful and extremely informative for discourse analysis. The data may be relevant for discourse analysis experts, political journalists, educators and copywriters.
The article describes a step-by-step strategy for designing a universal comprehensive vision of a vast majority of financial research topics. The strategy is focused around the analysis of the retrieval results of the word processing system Serelex which is based on the semantic similarity measure. While designing a research topic, scientists usually employ their individual background. They rely in most cases on their individual assumptions and hypotheses. The strategy, introduced in the article, highlights the method of identifying components of semantic maps which can lead to a better coverage of any scientific topic under analysis. On the example of the research field of finance we show the practical and theoretical value of semantic similarity measurements, i.e., a better coverage of the problems which might be included in the scientific analysis of financial field. At the designing stage of any research scientists are not immune to an insufficient and, thus, erroneous spectrum of problems under analysis. According to the famous maxima of St. Augustine, ‘Fallor ergo sum’, the researchers’ activities are driven along the way from one mistake to another. However, this might not be the case for the 21st century science approach. Our strategy offers an innovative methodology, according to which the number of mistakes at the initial stage of any research may be significantly reduced. The data, obtained, was used in two articles (N. Zavyalova, 2017) [7], (N. Zavyalova, 2015) [8]. The second stage of our experiment was driven towards analyzing the correlation between the language and income level of the respondents. The article contains the information about data processing.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
