Com o avanço tecnológico e a demanda cada vez maior pela estética facial, a área da harmonização orofacial requer constante inovação nos materiais, técnicas e tratamentos pré e pós-operatórios. Com a inserção da laserterapia nesse contexto, essa tecnologia é utilizada tanto no preparo da pele a ser harmonizada, quanto depois do procedimento realizado, visto que o laser possui propriedades anti-inflamatórias e estimula a renovação das células. O objetivo deste trabalho é, através de uma revisão da literatura, evidenciar a aplicabilidade da laserterapia na HOF e explicar seus mecanismos, uma vez que os raios emitidos possuem efeito direto nos tecidos biológicos, que variam entre o tipo de onda e as células em questão, resultando na ativação da microcirculação, produção de novos capilares, efeitos anti-inflamatórios e analgésicos, além de estimular o crescimento e a regeneração celular, podendo ser utilizado inclusive para intercorrências com a toxina botulínica.
