The aim of the present study was to perform microbiological isolation of Campylobacter jejuni from chilled chicken carcasses marketed in the Federal District of Brazil and to subject the strains to an antibiogram. A total of 92 samples from chilled chicken carcasses were acquired, 18 of which (19.56%) tested positive for C. jejuni. A total of 16 strains were tested for susceptibility to eight antimicrobial drugs. All 16 strains were resistant to ciprofloxacin, 15 strains to nalidixic acid, streptomycin, tetracycline, and gentamycin, 14 strains to amoxicillin, 11 strains to erythromycin, and 6 strains to chloramphenicol. The present study is the first to report on the presence of C. jejuni in chilled chicken carcasses marketed in the Federal District region of Brazil. These results may indicate flaws in certain steps of this food processing and highlight a possible public health problem due to the high level of resistance exhibited by the isolated strains.

The results might suggest problems for public health due the high resistance, since these microorganisms have ability to transmit genes for antimicrobial resistance to others in the intestinal tract of humans and animals. Estes resultados sugerem sérios problemas para a Saúde Pública, uma vez que esses microrganismos podem possuir a capacidade de transmitir genes de resistência antimicrobiana para outros microrganismos presentes na microbiota intestinal de humanos e animais, podendo inviabilizar o uso destas drogas para tratamentos clínicos.

Parasitosis are the most common diseases in the world, they are responsible for relevant negative consequences in the individuals´ health. The consumption of vegetables in Brazil and in the world is common due to their high nutritional value and they are recommended to be included in the population´s diet. Contaminations in vegetables are most often caused by irrigation water which is  contaminated by feces, other forms of contamination are through organic manure containing fecal waste and the contact of vegetables with animals where they are grown. This research evaluated the contamination in vegetables with the purpose of warning the community about hygiene and the correct approach of food handling in order to prevent parasitic infections, contributing to people´s health. Samples were collected from supermarkets and farmers´ markets, where we obtained a total of 30 samples that were analyzed using Hoffman, centrifugation and slide reading´s techniques. In all samples, parasites were found. In six samples non-pathogenic amoebas were found, however this finding means that there was contamination from human or animal feces. And, in the other 24 samples, parasitic structures that cause damage to health were found. This work showed a high level of contamination of the vegetables that are consumed daily by the population and the diseases caused by food which are a concern for the public health. Contaminated vegetables are dangerous considering the transport of parasites that may generate human infections, therefore the importance to create public policies in order to avoid parasitic infections. Situado na Região Centro-Oeste, o Distrito Federal é a menor unidade federativa brasileira e a única que não tem municípios, sendo dividida em 33 regiões administrativas, totalizando uma área de 5 779,999 km². A disseminação do vetor é ampla entre latitudes 35ºN e 35ªS, consideradas zonas intertropicais, se tratando do Aedes aegypty. O presente trabalho tem como objetivo revisar fatores determinantes à reprodução, transmissão e prevalência, assim como medidas de prevenção e sua eficiência junto com as políticas públicas e participação da população no auxílio no mapeamento preciso com relação a espaços-temporais nas regiões administrativas do Distrito Federal, riscos potenciais a população, situação do quadro sorotipos dos vírus, antes e durante a pandemia. A pesquisa foi realizada no Distrito Federal com dados referentes ao período de 2015 a 2020. Os dados foram obtidos pela Secretaria de Vigilância à Saúde, Secretaria de Saúde do Distrito Federal, boletins epidemiológicos e artigos atuais sobre Dengue e Dengue relacionada a Covid-19 nas plataformas de pesquisa científica. A colaboração da sociedade, profissionais da saúde e representantes governamentais são a força no enfrentamento à Covid-19, causado pelo vírus Sars-cov 2, assim como à Dengue com seus sorotipos. Assim, é necessário demandar a devida importância às duas patologias de forma responsável e comprometida, priorizando a saúde pública de modo a evitar um descontrole problemático tanto pelo Covid-19 e as arboviroses, visto a complexidade de ambas, e suas dependências de processos de organização urbana, social e governamental em seu controle.
