Narrow linewidth and widely tunable high-power Raman fiber lasers emitting in the U-band wavelength were demonstrated based on combinations of volume Bragg gratings with different center wavelengths. The narrowed linewidth was 65 pm at a center wavelength of 1657.86 nm with a maximum output power of 8.3 W, corresponding to a slope efficiency of 55.6%. For the tunable Raman fiber laser, continuously tunable dualwavelength emission was obtained in a wide band (1621.3-1683.5 nm) with a wavelength difference over 60 nm (0.7-62.2 nm). The maximum output power was 11 W, corresponding to a slope efficiency of 76.6%.
A broadband superfluorescent thulium fibre source with a spectral bandwidth centred at ~1.83 μm has been demonstrated. Through resonantly core-pumping a 30 cm long thulium fibre with a 1570 nm Er, Yb-codoped fibre laser, a maximum output power of 1.56 W was obtained for single-ended output configuration under 4.45 W absorbed pump power, corresponding to a slope efficiency of 40.9%. The emission spectrum approximately spanned from ~1750 to 1900 nm, with a bandwidth (full-width at half-maximum) of over 60 nm under modest output power and ~56 nm for 1.56 W output power.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
