Introdução: Os profissionais da saúde estão sendo considerados como essenciais no enfrentamento da pandemia do novo coronavírus, ganhando merecido destaque entre o mundo das profissões. Objetivo: Foi realizado um estudo para analisar como acadêmicos de cursos de graduação da área da saúde, avaliam-se em relação a qualidade do sono e atividade física no contexto da Covid-19. Método: A pesquisa foi do tipo quantitativa e os acadêmicos foram convidados a responder a uma pesquisa online. Os questionários utilizados, foram adaptados a partir de instrumentos validados e traduzidos para a língua portuguesa, que se constituem de perguntas de múltipla escolha. PSQI – Pittsburg Sleep Quality Index, que é um questionário de auto relato que avalia a qualidade do sono em um intervalo de 1 mês. IPAQ Short - International Physicaç Activity Questionnaire Short, questionário de registro de atividade física. A pesquisa ocorreu a partir do início do mês de maio ao final do mês de julho do ano de 2020. Resultados: Participaram do estudo, 208 acadêmicos, dentre os quais, 95 estudantes da Universidade do Oeste de Santa Catarina (Unoesc), Campus de São Miguel do Oeste e, 113 do Centro Universitário Católica de Santa Catarina, matriculados nos cursos de graduação: biomedicina, educação física, enfermagem, farmácia, fisioterapia, medicina, medicina veterinária, nutrição, odontologia e psicologia, com idade média de 24,5 anos e um desvio padrão de 7,8. Quanto ao sexo biológico, 184 mulheres e 24 homens. No período do estudo, 112 (54%) mantinham o isolamento social e só saiam de casa para atividades essenciais, 113 praticavam atividades físicas, dentre as atividades foram citadas, alongamentos 18%, caminhadas/corridas 23% e exercício com peso 16% como média geral de 3,5 dias por semana e 53 minutos por atividade. Referente ao sono, 138 (66%) declararam ter problemas com o sono. Dentre os quais, 25 (27%) informaram mais dificuldades para adormecer, 35 (17%) informaram possuir mais dificuldades em manter o sono, 40 (19%) mais insatisfação com o sono em relação ao período anterior a pandemia. Conclusão: A pandemia causada pelo novo coronavírus (Covid-19), promoveu mudanças econômicas, sociais e políticas em todo o mundo, gerando alterações também na estrutura organizacional do ensino superior, que teve que se adequar a novas formas de distanciamento e isolamento social que garantissem os aspectos de biossegurança.
