Abstract-We present an analog VLSI chip intended to serve as a front end of a speech recognition system. The chip architecture is inspired by biological auditory models common to humans and primate vertebrates. We include experimental results on a 1.2-m CMOS custom analog VLSI implementation and speech recognition results obtained from software simulations of the hardware on the TI-DIGITS database.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
