O presente artigo tem como objetivo tratar da importância da inclusão e aprofundamento de práticas de argumentação e oratória nas faculdades de direito, visto a necessidade de preparar os discentes para o mercado de trabalho e para a vida de modo efetivo no que se refere às comunicações e explicações do universo jurídico. Nesse contexto, foi destacada a relevância de tratar sobre oratória, quais práticas são adotadas geralmente pelas instituições de ensino, as dificuldades dos acadêmicos quanto à argumentação, os momentos em que o saber é aplicado, apresentando sugestões de atividades e reflexões sobre o uso de técnicas para melhorar a propagação de informações e o convencimento. O estudo do tema escolhido é muito significativo visto a existência de dificuldades dos acadêmicos, insegurança no momento de expor suas ideias e ausência de práticas para desenvolver a habilidade da comunicação durante a graduação, como também é reconhecível a presença de termos complexos e ser preciso um cuidado especial no que se refere à esfera jurídica. Como procedimento metodológico foi utilizado o hipotético dedutivo, debatendo a problemática com base em artigos, livros e obras sobre o tema. Conclui-se que o tema precisa ser mais aprofundado, recomenda-se desenvolver mais práticas de comunicação nas instituições de ensino, pois o convencimento e argumentação geram grandes impactos nos atos decisórios, podem mudar situações e proporcionar resultados mais efetivos. Foi compreendido que as universidades devem preparar os acadêmicos para a carreira jurídica de forma mais adequada de acordo com o que a vida exige.
