For the best possible thermal-technical properties of building structures it is necessary to use materials with very low thermal conductivity. Due to the increasing thermal-technical requirements for building structures, the insulating materials are developed. One of the modern thermal insulating materials is so-called aerogel. Unfortunately, this material is not used in the field of external thermal insulation composite systems because of its price and its properties. The aim of this paper is to present possibilities of using this insulating material in the civil engineering - specifically a usage of aerogel in the production of windows.
With regard to the current European trends in civil engineering and sustainability are still explored new building materials. In this case it is ideal to use natural materials such as straw. Its use as a building material is both ecological and economical. Excellent thermal insulation properties of straw have been known for centuries but the aim of this paper and the measurements were also demonstrate air-tightness and acoustic properties of a straw houses in the Czech Republic.
Paper presents results of measuring of airtightness and acoustic properties of clay house. This clay house was built as a "SuperAdobe house" from the bags filled with clay. Construction of the clay house is a cupola. Objective of the measurement was to evaluate the quality of peripheral construction in terms of airtightness. We also wanted to verify the acoustic parameters of earthen structures and determine the value of airborne sound insulation.
The paper deals with both the theoretical aspects and the practical experience with temporary steel bridge dynamic analysis. Since the moment people built the first bridge it became necessary to replace it in case of natural disasters like wind storms, floods, earthquakes, tsunami or wars and terrorist attacks. As a construction of a stable bridge lasts for a long time, the solution is a temporary bridge - a steel bridge structure designed especially for fast and repeated assembly and disassembly. The paper presents experimental analysis of steel bridge dynamic properties. The experimentally measured results are compared to theoretically calculated ones. Besides frequency analysis of supporting structure, the noise of the bridge during car passes is also measured and analyzed as nowadays traffic noise becomes a more and more important aspect, especially in case of temporary bridges. The bridge measurements are repeated for a clear bridge and for a bridge with anti-vibration mats attached to compare the arrangement results in decrease of traffic noise and the dynamic load of the bridge.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
