Pembangunan hydroponic drip system belum sepenuhnya sesuai dengan kualitas yang diinginkan. Faktor yang mempengaruhi pada tanaman hidroponik yaitu perubahan pH air, part per million (ppm), suhu air serta listrik yang tidak terkontrol sehingga memperburuk kualitas dan kuantitas pada tanaman hidroponik. Oleh karena itu, pemanfaatan solar cell sebagai sumber utama hydroponic drip system sangat efektif sebagai pengganti penggunaan listrik dari sistem ini, karena dapat mengurangi biaya penggunaan listrik dengan menggunakan media baterai sebagai penyimpanan daya yang dihasilkan. Selain menggunakan solar cell sebagai sumber listrik, sistem ini juga dilengkapi dengan power supply dari jala-jala sebagai cadangan sumber energi listrik apabila kapasitas baterai akan habis maupun kurang dari tegangan minimal kerja baterai sebesar 11,5 V. Pengujian solar cell dilakukan menghadap arah utara, dikarenakan posisi tempat pengujian berada di selatan garis khatulistiwa. Waktu pengujian dilaksanakan pada pukul 10.00 WIB – 14.50 WIB dengan sudut kemiringan yang diuji sebesar 0°, 10°, 20°, 30° dan 40°. Data menunjukkan perolehan sudut kemiringan solar cell yang optimal sebesar 30°, hal ini disebabkan karenai posisi solar cell pada sudut kemiringan ini lebih maksimal dalam menyerap intensitas cahaya.
