Na2O-Al2O3-P2O5 and Na2O-K2O-Al2O3-Ga2O3-P2O5 glasses were investigated with Rayleigh and Mandel'shtam-Brillouin scattering (RMBS) spectroscopy and high temperature ultrasonic study (HTUS). RMBS spectra intensities, their ratios and spectral shifts were determined as functions of glass compositions. Using the model of "freezing" of concentration , density, and anisotropy fluctuations in the process of cooling of a glass forming melt it was found that Rayleigh scattering losses are presumably a function of chemical microinhomogeneity of phosphate glasses. Lowscattering glass compositions were found.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
