De la Ética a la Bioética en las Ciencias de la Salud, surge desde la conceptualización de los términos ética y moral, definidos en el componente filosófico. Esta última es la “ciencia del fin al que debe dirigirse la conducta del hombre y de los medios para lograrlo, de acuerdo con la naturaleza humana; es también la ciencia del impulso de la conducta humana”. Mientras que la bioética es descendiente de la ética propia de la praxis, encargada de estudiar “las implicaciones de valor de prácticas y desarrollos en las ciencias de la vida, medicina y atención en salud” (Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social, s.f.; Sánchez y Cortina, 2015).
Dando continuidad a la realización de escritos sobre los riesgos laborales en la práctica formativa, como es el libro titulado Control de Riesgos Ocupacionales en Prácticas Formativas en Salud, que permite a algunas disciplinas de salud identificar situaciones de riesgo durante su desempeño laboral, el siguiente texto amplia la información a otras disciplinas, describiendo los peligros a los que se exponen, dando a conocer las fuentes generadoras del mismo, los efectos y los mecanismos de prevención ante la situación y permitiendo reducir indicadores de riesgos laborales de los estudiantes del área de la salud. Lo anterior está sustentado en estudios donde se registran altas frecuencias de accidentes en ciertas ocupaciones y, aunque la severidad no ha sido alta, es importante estar alerta por las consecuencias que pueden ocasionar.
La Red Colombiana de Universidades Promotoras de Salud, Nodo Valle del Cauca, realizó el III Encuentro Regional De Experiencias Significativas De Instituciones Promotoras De Salud, con el objetivo central de generar un espacio de formación, actualización y presentación de los diferentes programas, proyectos e investigaciones realizadas en el ámbito universitario que trasciende en la construcción de región y país, es decir una mayor visibilidad al conocimiento y acciones que se generan en el que hacer como universidades e instituciones de educación superior promotoras de salud.
<p><strong>Objetivo: </strong>Identificar los estilos de vida de los estudiantes de primer semestre de Odontología en una universidad privada en el año 2016.</p><p><strong>Materiales y métodos</strong>: Estudio descriptivo, transversal, cuantitativo, con una muestra de 58 estudiantes de primer semestre de una universidad privada de Cali. Se diligenció de manera virtual y anónima el cuestionario FANTÁSTICO que consta de 25 preguntas cerradas de escala Likert, que mide varios dominios físicos, psicológicos y sociales relacionados con el estilo de vida. Se realizó análisis estadístico uni y bivariado con el programa Stata 13®, buscando asociación entre cada ítem y el resultado final con el sexo del estudiante, mediante la prueba chi<sup>2</sup> con un alfa de 0,05.</p><p><strong>Resultados</strong>: Las categorías en las que se obtuvo un bajo puntaje fueron actividad física, alimentación, fumar, consumo de alcohol, hábitos de sueño y estrés. Hubo diferencias significativas en el consumo de cigarrillo, siendo mayor en hombres.</p><p><strong>Conclusión:</strong> El estilo de vida en la mayoría de los estudiantes fue excelente y bueno.</p><p><strong>Palabras clave</strong>: estilo de vida, estudiantes universitarios, cuestionario Fantástico.</p>
