O bruxismo é definido como uma atividade parafuncional do aparelho mastigatório, que constitui em ranger os dentes ou apertamento em estado de subconsciência. Mesmo o esmalte dental sendo o tecido mais duro do organismo, ele sofre perdas na sua estrutura mineral de forma irreversível. Essa fricçãopode atingir outros tecidos dentais causando sensibilidade, alterações periodontais, articulares e posturais. O paciente com tal distúrbio deve passar por uma avaliação completa para identificação da causa e sinais resultantes do ato. Em alguns casos é indicado o uso de placas miorrelaxantes, após reabilitação, mais só após uma avaliação detalhada e minuciosa pode se dizer se é indicada ou contraindicada o uso de facetas em porcelana em pacientes bruxistas. Esse trabalho trará informações com base nas obras literárias sobre as reabilitações com laminados cerâmicos em pacientes bruxistas, mostrando suas indicações e contraindicações. O objetivo central é o de apresentar uma revisão de literatura sobre a utilização de laminados cerâmicos em pacientes com bruxismo, buscando expor os pontos clínicos importantes para essa indicação. Concluiu-se que apesar de alguns autores apresentarem contraindicação para instalação dos laminados, outros autores apresentam que os mesmos podem ser indicados seguindo uma correta indicação; inclusive, defendem que seja tratada desde a etimologia do bruxismo.
