Every group of people, ethnicity, or tribe must possess cultural richness in the form of medical tradition. In the scientific world, this tradition is called ethnomedicin. In terms of therapy, etnomedicin is divided into two, namely herbal therapy and zoo theraphy. Herbal therapy is an attempt to treat an ethnic group using plant materials, while zoo theraphy is a traditional treatment using ingredients from animals. This research determines the object in the form of Javanese manuscripts which contains knowledge about zoo practices in Javanese manuscripts. The approach used is an exploratory approach by trying to make a qualitative description. In addition, this study also uses an ethnographic research approach to see animal medicine practices in the community. Treatment with zoo therapy is generally related to myths, rituals and legends. In general, manuscripts date from the 19th century, especially the Mataram Mataram era. One of the manuscripts that has become the source of the implementation of zoo theraphy is the Suluk Tambangraras script, also known as Serat Centhini. Other sources include primbon manuscripts, and practices of therapy zoos in the community.
