ÖZET: Katalitik konvertörler araçların egzoz emisyonlarındaki yanmamış hidrokarbonları azaltmak, oluşan azot oksitleri parçalamak için kullanılmaktadır. Fosil yakıtların önemli bir oranda tüketildiği araç motorlarında egzoz emisyonlarının kontrolü ve sınır değerlerini aşan araçların gerekli sistemleri değiştirmeleri çevresel problemlerden biri olan hava kirliliğini azaltmak için son derece önemlidir. Bu çalışmada, benzinli araçlardan elde edilen katalitik konvertörlerinden safsızlıkların giderilmesinde kullanılan parametreler optimize edilmiştir. Bu çalışma sonucunda, benzinli araç atık katalitik konvertörünün sülfürik asit ile gerçekleştirilen safsızlık giderimi işleminde katı/sıvı oranını, sıcaklık, karıştırma hızı, asit konsantrasyonu ve liç süresinin etkileri araştırılmış ve en uygun koşullar tespit edilmiştir. 10 N asit konsantrasyonunda, 2 saatlik liç süresinde, 300 dev dk -1 karıştırma hızında, 1/10 katı/sıvı oranında ve 90 °C sıcaklıkta yaklaşık % 30-35 gibi bir safsızlık giderimi gerçekleştirilmiştir.Anahtar kelimeler: Çevresel etkiler, hava kirliliği, katalitik konvertör, safsızlıkların giderimi.ABSTRACT: Catalytic converters are used to decrease the amount of unburned or partially oxidized hydrocarbons and nitrous oxides in vehicles' exhaust emissions. It is vitally important to control and to alter the catalytic systems of the vehicles having an exceeding exhaust emissions by usage of fossil fuels in large quantitates. In this study, the parameters used in removing the impurities of the used catalytic converter has been optimized derived from gasoline-powered vehicles. In this study, the effects of solid/liquid ratio, stirring rate, acid concentration, and leaching time were investigated and optimum conditions for the removal of base metals (impurities) from the waste catalytic converter obtained from gasoline using vehicle were determined. The impurity removal of 30-35% by weight was obtained using the 10 N acid concentration, 2 hours of leaching time, 300 rpm mixing rate, 1/10 solid/ liquid ratio and at 90 °C.
İkinci derece hız sabitleri Th(IV) konsantrasyonunun 5 mg/L' den 50 mg/L' a çıkması ile 0,120 (mg/g) -1 sa -1 'den 0,020 (mg/g) -1 sa -1 'e düşmüştür. Batch Kinetics and Isotherms for Biosorption of Thorium Ions onto Pretreated Powdered Waste Sludge from Aqueous SolutionKeywords Thorium (IV), Biosorption, Isotherm, Kinetics, Powdered waste sludge (PWS) Abstract: In this study, the batch kinetics and isotherms for biosorption of thorium ions onto pre-treated powdered waste sludge (PWS) from aqueous solution were investigated. Powdered waste sludge is used as an adsorbent was obtained from the sewage treatment plant aeration basin. The obtained powdered waste sludge was modified with 1% H 2 O 2 for removing pollution on its surface and it was increased the active sites to bind metals. The structure of the modified powdered waste sludge biosorbents were characterized by FTIR methodology. Langmuir, Freundlich, generalized adsorption isotherm and Lagergren and Ho's kinetic models compatibility were investigated on the obtained experimental results. It can be seen that the Freundlich isotherm was the best isotherms for confirming the experimental results based on the correlation coefficients. 48.9 mg/g biosorption capacity was found by using Langmuir isotherm results which were applied for the removal of Th(IV) ions by using PWS biosorption. The pseudo second order kinetics were more compatible in the applied other kinetic studies. The second order rate constants with increasing of Th (IV) concentration from 5 mg/L to 50 mg/L were decreased from 0.120 (mg/g) -1 h -1 to 0.020 (mg/g) -1 h -1 .
