The two-dimensional boundary layer flow of a Prandtl nanofluid was explored in the presence of an aligned magnetic field over an inclined stretching/shrinking sheet in a non-Darcy permeable medium. To transform the PDEs of the leading equations into ODEs, a coupled boundary value problem was formed and suitable similarity functions were used. To obtain numerical answers, an efficient code for the Runge–Kutta technique with a shooting tool was constructed with a MATLAB script. This procedure is widely used for the solution of such problems as it is efficient and cost-effective with a fifth-order accuracy. The significance of immersed parameters on the velocity, temperature, concentration, and bioconvection is shown through figures. Furthermore, the physical parameters of the skin friction coefficient and the Nusselt numbers are demonstrated in tables. The declining behavior of the flow velocity against the porosity parameter Kp and the local inertia co-efficient Fr is shown, and the both parameters of the Darcy resistance and Darcy–Forchheimer resistance are responsible for slowing the fluid speed. The increasing values of the Schmidt number Sc decrease the concentration of the nano entities.
Even now with the cutting edge businesses and specialized management, a large number of the firms are owned by families in Pakistan. Agency disagreements and issues exist between the management and the owners as well as the minority shareholders and the block holders. To handle these feuds, accountants use discretionary accruals. These accruals help to manage earnings and smooth sharp trends to protect the interest of management and the owners. This study determines whether the investors manage the earnings through discretionary accruals or do they price these accruals when considering the stock price. This study finds significant evidence that the market prices discretionary accruals. We find that the firms with higher number of institutional ownership, high quality audit production and higher number of independent board have significantly higher impact of discretionary accruals on their stock returns as compared to other firms.
On 16 January 2015, Zohaib Akhtar, the company secretary and PA to the CEO of Ji Trading Company was analysing what went wrong during the day. Ji Trading Company imported heavy machinery from China for its clients in Pakistan. This year the company tried to attract more investment from their existing Chinese partners and raise new capital from local investors. Zohaib and his associate, Sheng, had been working on this deal for more than a year. They worked on understanding the Chinese culture as well as understanding the inherent differences between the Chinese and Pakistanis. Yet, on the first day, the Chinese partners came to the firm and it was a fiasco. Now he had to think about ways to stop further problems during the next month the Chinese partners were in Pakistan.
In the US, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) monitors the financial institutions which sell financial products and services to consumers. CFPB ensures that the consumers of financial products receive transparent and competitive services from financial institutions. The chapter contributes to the literature on state-run consumer protection organizations. The CFPB complaint database is used to analyze the performance of CFPB and to find some real-world behaviors of financial institutions from the perceptions of financial consumers. The weaknesses of CFPB are discussed in light of the current social, political, and economic changes happening in the USA. Results show that predatory behaviour is more dominant in non-banking credit and lending institutions. During COVID-19, the people took benefit of others' misery by engaging in manipulative fraud-for-profit schemes. Overall, despite creating awareness, CFPB was not so successful in getting relief for the customer.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
