Sargassum polycystum is one type of brown algae that contains many bioactive compounds, including polyphenols. This compound is known to be anti-hyperglycemic that beneficial for the control of blood glucose and diabetic symptoms in diabetics. Symptoms caused by hyperglycemia are weight loss, polyphagia, polyuria, and polydipsia. Polyphenols are compounds that dissolve quickly and are easily obtained by decoction. The purpose of this study was to examine S. polycystum decoct for improvement in diabetes symptom in type 2 diabetes mellitus rats. This study was carried out at the Laboratory for Physiology and Biomedicine on the Medical Faculty of the Universitas Brawijaya. This study consisted of 7 treatments: negative control, negative control + metformin, diabetes control, diabetes + metformin, diabetic rats + 0.5 mL of decoct, diabetic rats + 1 mL of decoct, and diabetic rats + 1.5 mL of decoct, respectively. Blood glucose and diabetes symptom were observed at the end of the study. The results showed that the diabetic rat group suffered from hyperglycemia and diabetes symptoms. Treatment of S. polycystum decocts on type 2 diabetes mellitus rats decreased blood sugar levels and improved diabetes symptom. However, the results were not as optimal as in diabetic animals treated with metformin. The conclusion is that S. polycystum decoct can reduce hyperglycemia and diabetes symptoms in rats with type 2 diabetes mellitus.
Luka bakar merupakan kondisi dimana suatu jaringan rusak atau hilang akibat kontak kulit dengan panas.Turbinaria ornata mengandung senyawa yang memiliki aktivitas sebagai penutup luka serta antimikroba yaitu Neophytadiene dan 4,8,12,16-Octadecatetraen-1-ol,4,9,13,17-tetramethyl. Dalam hidrogel ini diformulasikan ekstrak dengan kombinasi hEGF sebagai faktor pertumbuhan yang sangat berpotensi dalam proses penyembuhan luka.Tujuan dari riset ini yaitu memperluas pemanfaatan ekstrak T. ornata untuk pengobatan jenis luka lain yaitu luka bakar. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah riset empirik. Dalam satu formula sediaan ini, terdapat ekstrak kental turbinaria dengan kadar 200mg/10ml. Penelitian ini menghasilkan sediaan hidrogel kombinasi ekstrak T. ornata dengan hEGF yang baik karena homogen dan memiliki pH menyerupai pH kulit yaitu 6.
Fractures are mostly caused by traffic accidents with an estimated number of fractures in the world between 1 and 2.9 million with different age classifications. Every fracture always do surgical operation and advanced analgetic to decrease pain along surgical operation process. Nonfarmakologic management to increase decrease pain such as skin stimulation electric neuronskin stimulation, and accupuntur. This study aimed to assess affect of music classic mozart giving therapy for decreate pain fracture in Dahlia Room RSUD Arifin Achmad Pekanbaru. Design this study is quasy experiment with non randomized control group pretest posttest design in 1st – 10th March in Ruang Dahlia RSUD Arifin Achmad Pekanbaru. Was obtained from 90 cases with a sample of 30 respondents where divided into two groups: esperimental and control with 15 respondents in each group with the technique accidental sampling. Univariate data are presented in tabular from distruction characteristis of respondents, follow by bivariate analysis using SPSS Wilcoxon and Man Whitney test for normal distribution of data not presented with SPSS softwere. Pain fracture impairment testing in the control group and the experimental values obtaned was 6.71 experiment pre value and 2.66 experiment post value for control pre value and 6.48 control post value with P value 0.000 < α 0.05. so its can conduced there is effect of music classic mozart giving therapy to pain fracture in Ruang Dahlia RSUD Arifin Achmad Pekanbaru. It is expected that the results of this study can be as new information and as a reference by health services, especially nurse RSUD Arifin Achmad about mozart classical music distraction techniques to reduce pain in patients postoperative fractures.
