Background: Despite the lack of attention, suicide is a major public and mental health problem in Indonesia. Research on how Indonesian newspapers portray suicide case has been lacking. Aim: To assess the quality of Indonesian online newspaper reporting suicide news and its compliance with the World Health Organization (WHO) mass media reporting guidelines. Methods: The content of suicide news reported in online newspapers was searched and scrutinized against the WHO suicide reporting guidelines. Results: Within the duration of 6 months, there were 548 suicide news reported. This consisted of 16.8% attempted suicide and 83.2% completed suicide. Approximately 90.3% reported age, 97.3% reported gender and 64.3% reported the marital status of the victims. Furthermore, 68% reported the methods of suicide in headline or title, 40.5% shown the picture of the victims and 56.6% shown illustration only, and 67.2% reported life event related to suicide act. Conclusion: The vast majority of online newspapers in Indonesia exaggerate suicide news. They rarely inform the readers that there is hope and help available. The majority also do not conform to the WHO media guidelines.
Abstrak: Matematika merupakan salah satu ilmu dasar yang mempunyai peranan besar dalam kehidupan sehari-hari yang dapat membentuk sikap, kecerdasan, dan kepribadian seorang anak dalam perkembangan ilmu dan teknologi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah merancang sebuah aplikasi pembelajaran matematika interaktif berbasis multimedia adobe flash bagi siswa sekolah dasar. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode pengembangan multimedia dengan visual modeling menggunakan UML dan Corel Draw X7. Pembelajaran matematika interaktif ini merupakan media pembelajaran yang menyajikan materi, video dan suara berbentuk Adobe Flash Professional CS6. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah sebuah media pembelajaran alternatif yang memberikan respon aktif bagi guru dan siswa melalui pengendalian komputer serta aplikasi ini menarik minat siswa dalam mempelajari matematika khususnya materi mengenai luas segi banyak dan lingkaran serta volume tabung dan prisma segitiga. The purpose of this research is to design an interactive mathematics learning application based on Adobe Flash for elementary school students. The research method used is multimedia development methods with visual modeling using UML and Corel Draw X7. The interactive mathematics learning is a learning medium that presents material, video and sound in the form of Adobe Flash Professional CS6. The result of this research is an alternative research medium that provides active response for teachers and students through computer control and this application attract students' interest in learning mathematics, especially material on the wide facets and circles and the volume of tubes and prisms triangle
This research is a classroom action research that aims to know the improvement of mathematics learning outcomes through the application of Think-Pair-Share Cooperative Learning (TPS). The subjects of this study were students of Class VII B SMP Negeri 10 Ujung Loe Kab. Bulukumba in the odd semester of the academic year 2016/2017, with a total of 30 students, consisting of 15 men and 15 women. This classroom action procedure takes 2 cycles. Cycle I held 4 meetings and Cycle II held 4 meetings. Data collection is done by using learning result test and observation. The collected data were analyzed by using qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis. The result of this research showed that quantitative improvement of mathematics learning outcomes after the implementation of Think-Pair-Share (TPS) cooperative learning, in cycle I showed that the average of student's learning result was 39,50 from ideal score that might be reached 100, Standard deviation of 24.58 and is in the low category. There are 7 complete students (23,33%) and 23 students (76,67%), and in cycle II shows the average of student's learning result is 69,50 from ideal score that might be reached 100, standard Deviation of 24.99 and is in the high category. There are 21 complete students (70%) and 9 (30%) unfinished students. While qualitatively during the learning process takes place changes in student attitudes. This is marked by the increased activity and activity of students during the implementation of the teaching took place viewed from the observation sheet conducted during the study. From the analysis can be concluded that with the implementation of cooperative learning type Think-Pair-Share (TPS) there is an increase in the results of learning mathematics students of class VII B SMP Negeri 10 Ujung Loe Bulukumba
This research is a study that focus on local wisdom aspect as the force behind the sustainable development, whether development in economic, social, culture, education and other aspects. The scope of this research problem is coastal development based on the local coastal wisdom itself. Where wisdom is positioned as a potential for environmentally friendly and sustainable development. So this study looks at how the strategy of Panglima Laot as an institution of adat laot or local wisdom which is a maritime cultural heritage that developed in Aceh coast in maintaining sustainable coastal environment. This research was conducted in Pidie District of Aceh Province, where Pidie District is one of the coastal regency in Aceh. By borders, the North side of the regency is bounded by the Malacca Strait, South by West Aceh and Aceh Jaya Regencies, the East with Pidie Jaya Regency and the West is bounded by the Regency of Aceh Besar. This research uses qualitative research methods. In addition, the study also uses a multi-disciplinary approach. The approach used in this research is the approach of sociology, anthropology and history. The existence of three disciplinary approaches, can provide a comprehensive description of Panglima Laot, so that the researchers can build concepts in answering research problems. The results of this study indicates that, Panglima Laot as chief of adat (custom) has its own role in regulating fishermen as coastal custom communities. The existence of Panglima Laot is strategic enough in limiting the behavior of fishing communities, especially behavior that can damage the coastal environment. To curb such behavior, the Panglima Laot undertook by customary approach as a strategy in preventing the destruction to the coastal environment caused by the behavior of fishermen. The customary approach strategy used by panglima laot as adat leader in encouraging sustainable coastal maritime conservation in Pidie District.
Prestasi belajar matematika siswa Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA) di Indonesia masih tergolong rendah. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari hasil ujian nasional tahun 2019 rerata nilai mata pelajaran matematika sebesar 39,08 dan terendah diantara mata pelajaran lain yang diujiankan. Rendahnya prestasi belajar matematika disebabkan oleh faktor eksternal dan internal dalam diri siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui (1) Seberapa besar pengaruh efikasi diri terhadap keterlibatan belajar matematika siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 2 Bulukumba, (2) Seberapa besar pengaruh efikasi diri terhadap hasil belajar matematika siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 2 Bulukumba, (3) Seberapa besar pengaruh keterlibatan belajar matematika terhadap hasil belajar matematika siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 2 Bulukumba, (4) Seberapa besar pengaruh tidak langsung efikasi diri terhadap prestasi belajar matematika melalui keterlibatan belajar siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 2 Bulukumba. Metode Penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian ex-post facto yang bersifat kausalitas. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 2 Bulukumba dengan jumlah sampel 144 siswa. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan instrumen yang berupa skala efikasi diri, skala keterlibatan belajar dan hasil ulangan semester gajil tahun ajaran 2020/2021 mata pelajaran matematika. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu statistik inferensial dengan menggunakan analisis SEM. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) efikasi diri berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap keterlibatan belajar matematika dengan besarnya pengaruh 1,130 atau 113 %; (2) efikasi diri berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap prestasi belajar matematikan dengan besarnya pengaruh 0,523 atau 52,3 %; (3) keterlibatan belajar matematika tidak berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap prestasi belajar matematika; (4) tidak ada pengaruh positif dan signifikan efikasi diri melalui keterlibatan belajar matematika terhadap prestasi belajar matematika
