This article attempts to explore the EFL teachers’ experiences in using zoom video conferencing platform as the technological massive changes during remote learning in the pandemic situation. The research question is how EFL teachers’ experience in the perception toward zoom video conferencing platform. The aims are to know EFL teachers’ experience toward zoom video conferencing platform in the perception of its usefulness, ease of use and satisfaction during the zoom video session. The design of this study is a mixed method analysis. The data instrument was collected using close ended questionnaire and interview. The data was gathered from 27 respondents. The findings are most of teachers have positive experience on its usefulness, attractiveness and user friendly. Only few teachers have negative experiences due to the limited internet quota and unstable connection.
This article presents a procedure of developing an attractive stop-motion video as media of teaching theme-based vocabulary for elementary students. Stop-motion video is typically a product of technology-based media or known as multimedia which is designed and developed with technology integration. The media is proposed to be utilized to teach theme-based vocabulary for elementary students in the second grade. Theme-based vocabulary deals with a list of words referred to such specific themes as family members, occupations, favorite foods, favorite drinks, and public places. The media hopefully will attract students’ intention to learn English vocabularyand ease teachers in teaching theme-based vocabulary. Related theories about multimedia, stop-motion video, teaching theme-based vocabulary, and also steps of media development are discussed.Key Words: multimedia, stop-motion video, teaching theme-based vocabulary
This research was aimed to develop appropriate, interesting and attractive speaking media in teaching descriptive text for seventh grade students of MTsS UMMI Lubuk Pakam. Due to the result in the form of product, this study was categorized as Research and Development (R & D) study which adapted from Borg and Gall (1989) theory with some modifications. The subject of this study was the seventh grade students of MTsS UMMI Lubuk Pakam. In conducting this research, the procedures were gathering the data and information, conducting the need analysis, designing the first draft of media, revising the media, and producing the final product as the meme comic. The instruments of collecting data were the combination of two strategies; interview and questionnaires. The interview result was analyzed as qualitative data and the questionnaires analyzed as quantitative data. These data were needs of students covering target needs and learning needs. This study developed speaking media which only focused on descriptive text taught in the odd semester. These media was based on Curriculum 2013.
