As a Muslim minority country located far off the east coast of South Africa, Mauritius has successfully introduced Islamic finance since 1998. However, the development is not as expected since two Islamic banking windows were closed down and the only Islamic commercial bank in the country has been struggling hard in order to generate favorable expected profits. The aims of this study are to investigate the bank selection criteria among Muslims in Mauritius and to evaluate the customer satisfaction upon the Islamic banking service quality in the country. The findings show that privacy, easy access, service quality, facilities, transparency and bank reputation are the factors influence Muslim Mauritian to patronize bank and interestingly religion and religiosity are out of it. The importance – performance analysis is used to provide an interesting visual analysis on the service quality items examined. The findings suggest that Islamic banks must improve their Tangible and Reliability aspects in order to satisfy the customers and eventually become more profitable.

SCIENTIFICATION OF ISLAM AND EDUCATION DICHOTOMY PROBLEM. This writing is trying to analyze about the tendency of dichotomy that happened in Islam scholarly. A dichotomy is practically reflected in the dichotomy pattern in education. Segregation demarcation between general education and religious education. Eventually gave birth to stratification between the two educations, where the Islamic education was considered in lower position. One of the efforts to develop Islamic scholarly is tominimized dichotomy problem is called Islamic scientification. Islamic scientification is indicated that there is an excavations in Islamic khazanah that gave birth to the concept and the theory that are relevant to what ummah need. Scientification of Islam is expected to be knowledge Islam will be able to develop not only in bayani and metaphysic dimensions. But more than that, the integration of knowledge, as there was the beginning in the twentieth century can be raised again.
<p>Tulisan ini berupaya menelaah tentang kurikulum tersembunyi dalam sebuah proses pembelajaran. Dalam pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI), kurikulum tersembunyi memiliki peran yang cukup signifikan dalam membentuk sikap dan karakter para siswa. Melalui penggunaan kurikulum tersembunyi, para guru dan sekolah-sekolah dapat mencapai tujuan pembelajaran PAI secara optimal. Dari penelitian yang telah dilakukan, dapat diketahui bahwa kurikulum tersembunyi merupakan kurikulum yang tidak tampak, bisa terjadi secara spontanitas, tanpa terencana dan bisa muncul dari pengalaman belajar dalam sekolah. Di samping itu, meskipun kurikulum tersembunyi tidak mempunyai sistematika yang formal dan terukur, namun sangat berperan dalam mewujudkan sebuah tujuan pembelajaran, khususnya pembelajaran PAI. Pembelajaran PAI akan dapat dicapai dengan maksimal dengan dukungan kurikulum tersembunyi melalui aktifitas siswa, baik dalam pembelajaran maupun di luar pembelajaran.</p><p><strong>Kata kunci: kurikulum, tersembunyi, pembelajaran, PAI</strong></p><p><em>THE HIDDEN CURRICULUM IN LEARNING PAI. This paper describes the concept of hidden curriculum in a learning process. On learning of Islamic Education (PAI), the hidden curriculum has a significant role in shaping the attitudes and character of students. Throught the use of hidden curriculum, teachers and schools will be able to achieve the learning objective of PAI optimal. Based on the research that was conducted, it can be known that hidden curriculum can happen spontaneously, and can appear from the learning experience at school. Besides, although the hidden curriculum does not have a formal and measured system, it has a significant role in creating a learning goal, especially in Islamic education learning. Islamic education learning can be achieved maximally by the support of hidden curriculum through students’ activities both in and out of learning process.</em></p><p><strong><strong><em>Keywords</em></strong><em>: hidden curriculum, learning , Islamic Education</em><br /></strong></p>
Tulisan ini bertujuan menganalisis tentang relevansi praktik akad ijarah pada pembiayaan multijasa yang terjadi di PT. BPRS Gala Mitra Abadi Grobogan apakah sudah sesuai dengan Fatwa DSN-MUI No. 44/DSN-MUI/VII/2004 tentang pembiayaan multijasa dan tentang cara penentuan ujrahnya. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian lapangan dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Data diperoleh dengan menggunakan metode wawancara, dokumentasi dan observasi, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan metode analisis deskriptif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: Pertama, praktik akad ijarah pada pembiayaan multijasa yang diterapkan oleh PT. BPRS Gala Mitra Abadi Grobogan kurang sesuai dengan Fatwa DSN-MUI No. 44/DSN-MUI/VII/2004 tentang pembiayaan multijasa dikarenakan pihak PT. BPRS Gala Mitra Abadi Grobogan memberikan dana/uangnya langsung kepada nasabah. Kedua, penetapan ujrah pada pembiayaan multijasa ini sudah ditentukan oleh pihak PT. BPRS Gala Mitra Abadi Grobogan berdasarkan lamanya jangka waktu yang diambil oleh nasabah dalam membayar angsurannya. Namun, ujrah ini juga bersifat fleksibel yakni ketika nasabah mampu mengembalikan pinjaman lebih cepat daripada waktu yang ditentukan maka akan mendapatkan diskon (pengurangan) ujrah. Penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa tidak semua lembaga keuangan syariah menjalankan fatwa DSN-MUI.
<p><em>The evaluation system is an important part of the curriculum component used to measure achievement of learning objectives. In learning at STAIN Kudus, each lecturer has different models and forms of learning evaluation. This study aims to examine the model of learning evaluation conducted by lecturers in Sharia Business Management Program (MBS) in 2014. As a result, the evaluation system consists of two types, test and non test. In the type of evaluation the test consists of written tests, oral and deeds. In the written test, there is an objective test form and a description test. While non-tests can be done through observation, portfolio, attitude instruments and so on. Evaluation system used by lecturers on MBS STAIN Kudus Prodi in general is a form of written test type description. Although there are some lecturers who use objective writing tests and oral tests.</em></p>
<p class="normal">Counseling has been a need for people all over the world to the present day. This article will discuss discourses and practices of counseling in <em>Osing</em> as illustrated in <em>Lontar Yusuf</em> Manuscript. The study applies a qualitative approach with the technique of content analysis. This article argues that counseling has not only been a dominant discourse and practice of the modern society in the West but also a cultural wealth in the traditional society in Indonesia, as can be seen in Banyuwangi people (<em>Osing</em>). This article further argues that traditional local values of <em>Osing—</em>such as <em>moco saloko </em>(passing on God’s teachings through songs), <em>ngedapteyan </em>(being aware, patient, and resilient), <em>angering sang putri </em>(relieving sorrow), and <em>munajah </em>(praying to God)<em>—</em>has been a foundation for discourses and practices of <em>Osing</em> which can develop awareness of basic concepts of counseling and therapeutic techniques based on the importance of religion and godliness. The result of this study shows that counseling based on local wisdom of <em>Osing </em>can contribute to enrich discourse and practices of counseling in the modern era.</p>
