Smartphone ownership is fast becoming a birth-right in the world of today. For developers, this opens up a whole new world of business opportunities where applications are being purchased every single day. Besides the multi billions of dollars spent each year on application purchases alone, consumers nowadays are facing an even newer trend; In-App Purchasing. In-App purchasing refers to a scenario where the initial applications are downloadable for free, however some additional functions or elements of the applications may be acquired within the applications for a small (or not so small) fee. This paper aims to review this trend and the guidelines that is applied to this phenomenon by the three main smartphone operating systems; iOS, Android and Windows. This would be done by highlighting the major strengths and weaknesses that each platform has to offer, as well as the common policies that are enforced across all three platforms.
The need for validation technique for user requirement or in other term Tender Specification at the Request for Tender (RFT) is vital. Without much resource for vendor to dispose of, the outcome of this research will proof useful. The purpose of this article is to determine the gap of initial and finish software product, method of eliminate or mitigate those gaps, list of OO artefacts and their relevancy towards the research. Finding of this article will be the basis of interconnecting user requirement specification and meta-requirement via UML. Based on the result, RE plays an important role in the survivability of a project, there are a few researches being done for solutions in the field of RFT specification validation, UML is the most relevant artefacts and usability of UML diagram ranked based on consistency is relevant toward connecting UML and meta-requirement. It is suggested that further research is to be carried out that will define the connection between user requirement specification in the form of UML to meta-requirement in order to achieve the overall objective of the research.
The challenges faced by software vendor in competing for tenders in todays are massive and are desperately in need of intervention by the kind people of the research community. With very small resources available at their disposal, it is a daunting task them in the pursue to gain new software development projects each time new tenders are coming out. The objective of this publication is to propose an initial model that utilizes meta-requirement as a medium to validate the User Requirement Specification document that is included in the RFT. Looking forward, an algorithm will be developed for realizing the associations that was define in the propose model.
The role of Information System Design Theory in software development is enormous. With the help of design theory, developers could estimate how the system will be and the reasons why the system reacts that way. The focus of the article is to revised and re-establish the design theory of a self-service university management system. The objectives of this publication are to identify the most relevant publication that will act as a guideline to generate the design theory artifacts and to establish the artifacts which will consist of three components named kernel theory, meta-requirements, and meta-design for the stated system. The system scope will be focused on enabling self-service functions. Validation will be done through FEDS framework with the inclusion of a traceability matrix between the meta-requirement against the real-world user requirement. The significance of this article is to provide an initial set of design theory artifacts to be utilized by software developers in the development or evaluation of a University Management System.
