A new optical chemical sensor was fabricated based on incorporation of 2,2-furildioxime as a sensitive reagent into the nanopore of a transparent glasslike material through the sol-gel method which was suitable for determination of Ni2+ ions in aqueous solutions. The prepared sensors were composed of tetraethoxysilane (TEOS), 2,2-furildioxime, methanol, hydrochloric acid and Triton X-100. The sensors were constructed by dip coating onto glass substrates. The optimum response of the sensor toward Ni2+ ions was reached at pH 8.5 and the contact time for the formation of the complex at 10 min. The linear concentration of the calibration curve was in the range of 1–5 mg L−1 with a detection limit of 0.111 mg L−1, and quantification limit of 0.337 mg L−1. In addition, the relative standard deviation (RSD) was less than 5% in determination of Ni2+ with ten slide sensor membranes. The developed sensor was tested on Ni2+ determination in real water samples which was confirmed by the atomic absorption spectrophotometer method.
An electrode of the nickel electroplating on copper (Ni/EC) has been prepared for a simple and low cost glucose sensor in human urine detection. The electrode was prepared by using pure copper (99.9%) with electroplating method in NiSO4 solution. The electrochemical oxidation of Ni/EC electrode was investigated bys using cyclic voltammetry method. Material Ni/EC identification of morphology used Scanning Electron Magnetic (SEM) and Energy Dispersive X-Ray (EDX). The electrochemical reaction of glucose was analyzed by the cyclic voltammetry method in some electrolyte solutions. Calibration curved was constructed and a linear response for glucose concentration at range 0-0.004 M with R2 = 0.992, LOD and LOQ was determined 4.85x10−4 M, 1.6x10−3 respectively. The proposed electrode might open up a new possibility for the determination of glucose concentration in human urine. Its advantages are simple to prepare, low cost analyzing, and excellent results.
Proses pembelajaran dikelas harus menghadirkan suasana pembelajaran yang kreatif dan inovatif. Suasana yang baru dapat menjadikan siswa lebih mudah paham dengan materi yang disampaikan dan antusias dalam mengikuti proses pembelajaran khususnya mata pada pelajaran Kimia. Kegiatan pelaksanaan pengabdian masyarakat ini memberikan sosialiasi dan praktik pembuatan sabun herbal dengan menggunakan minyak atsiri kenanga dan lemon. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pengetahuan tentang proses pembuatan sabun herbal di SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Palangka Raya. Pengabdian masyarakat ini secara umum meliputi 3 kegiatan yaitu persiapan, pelaksanaan dan evaluasi. Kegiatan ini berlangsung sehari dan diikuti oleh 29 peserta. Proses pembuatan sabun dapat difahami dengan baik oleh peserta dan seluruh kegiatan berjalan dengan baik dan lancar.
