The tourism village trend that is developing at this time is one of the important parameters in the development of Sedati District. Sedati District has some potential to be developed into a tourist village. The potential of tourist villages in Sedati District can be grouped into three types of tourist villages, namely coastal, arts and culture, and history. However, the diversity of tourism potential that is owned is not widely known by the wider community, has not been managed properly, and has not been integrated between one tourist village and another. The purpose of this study is to explore the potential and constraints of tourist villages in Sedati District so that strategies can be drawn up for the development of a sustainable integrated tourism area. The research is qualitative and quantitative, with a research approach using the positivism paradigm. The data analysis technique in this study used descriptive qualitative analysis and SWOT analysis. Sedati District has 8 villages that have the potential to be developed as integrated tourism villages. Have something to do, something to see, and something to buy. The weakness is that tourism objects are not visually attractive, do not involve the community, lack promotion, and there is no branding. The development strategy that can be carried out is to integrate and collaborate with the three existing types of tourism; create a regional arrangement design concept and visual quality according to the characteristics; integrate land conversion according to the RTRW; educate and prepare the community and village officials as tourism actors; synergize inter-village policies at the sub-district level; establish cooperation with the Navy, and the private sector; promote and strengthen branding with internet media; forming pokdarwis to realize the development of tourist villages
The unique character Kalanganyar are influencing the character of the space, spaces in macro (Regional) and micro (residential) scale. In the micro-scale (residential) coastal architecture has a variety of spatial typologies, including terraces as the front area that forms identity. The meaning of terraces in settlements is not only as an intermediary area between public and private space but becomes an identity. The diversity of terrace meanings in coastal settlements is influenced by various aspects. So that the terrace is interpreted as a multifunctional area that is to socialize, trade, identity and also as part of the storage area. According to Fauzi, et al (2012), the meaning is always related to function and form. The realization of the relationship between function, form and meaning cannot be separated from one another; all three aspects affect each other through the process back and forth. In this research, the sign aspect becomes the basis of research conducted with an interpretive approach to arrange meanings based on events, objects, indicators and observers. The purpose of this study is to be able to identify the meaning of terraces in coastal settlements so that they can be interpreted correctly and appropriately.
Home Based Enterprises (HBEs) provide an enormous impact on the lives of the citizens and the environment. The impacts include: increase income and welfare of the family, provide job opportunities, improve the quality of homes and the environment, and ensure life sustainability. The existence of the business leads changes to the house. Those changes that made to the house are often ignore the comfort of home space and the environment as living space. This study aims to look at the development of HBEs performed by community in Kampoeng Pandean. The measurement items used are architectural sustainability factors, ie economical sustainability, social sustainability, and enviromental sustainability. The study is located in Kampoeng Pandean Sidoarjo. The method used is a combination of qualitative and quantitative method. The results show that HBEs in Kampoeng Pandean have not fully supported the sustainable architecture. Environmental sustainability has not been met, due to the density of the environment, the high percentage of building area to land area, and the construction of business space does not consider the comfort factor.
Rural and urban communities merge. Sedati’s districts are vulnerable due to a lack of infrastructure, dispersed populations, disaster management capacities, and subsistence. A city is resilient if its citizens can survive and recover from a disaster. These relationships allow for implementing programs that promote urban and rural resilience. How do urban spatial patterns affect resilience determinants? This research examines the typo-morphological urban layout of Sedati District to discover the periphery’s resilience and current situation. By using typo – morphological analysis and space syntax analysis researcher seeks the configuration of typology and morphology of the area. The results show that global connectivity and integration exist only in the center of Sedati District (HH3). Disconnecting two nodes won’t stop the network if there are multiple pathways. Sedati’s axial lines cease in space. Decreases road strength. Controlling expansion and using land efficiently, fostering urban and peri-urban agriculture, and making urban hubs inaccessible to nature are local solutions. Sedati lacks mixed-use clusters and pedestrian mobility. Urban livelihood, activity, and total life resilience reflect a ‘center-periphery’ spatial structure with expanding and declining gradients. Looping spatial syntactic configurations are needed for a robust urban fabric. Mixed-use land helps urban clusters’ peripheries.
