Agriculture has always been one of the most important production sectors for people and has been in continuous technological development since the early times of human history. Computer vision techniques are also widely used in agriculture today. In the lemon groves, when the fruits on the trees are ripe and ready for sale, the total fruit yield is estimated by experienced people and the sales process takes place based on this forecast data. In this research, fruit yield estimation was made by using numerical data obtained by using computer vision techniques on fruit image taken from trees and transferred to computer environment and the artificial neural network in multilayer perceptron architecture. The designed system estimated the yield correctly by 72.8 % from the pictures taken while the lemons were on the tree and estimated the weights correctly 99.13% from the pictures taken while they collected.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
