As part of the new emphasis in MOBIUS the editors hope to develop a strong section in the journal dealing with medical informatics and communications technology to reflect developments in these fields as they bear upon the evolving art and science of continuing education for health professionals. Computerized data bases, new means of electronic information retrieval and transfer, and new developments in information science are certain to be at the cutting edge of much new continuing education for health professionals. At least three organizations in these fields may be expected to have an interest in MOBIUS as a means of reaching continuing education professionals in health science and health care. We also know that many readers of MOBIUS are already interested and have become leaders in these fields, and some of these have already begun to contribute to MOBIUS. Such contributions are encouraged.
