A la fundación Bancaja por su beca de acción social durante los dos últimos años de mi investigación sin la cual hubiese sido imposible la culminación de esta tesis doctoral.A las diferentes personas que han pasado por el despachito por escucharme y animarme en momentos no muy fáciles.A mis padres y mi hermana que me apoyaron en este mi sueño de continuar mi desarrollo intelectual y personal en un país lejano, aguantando principalmente, mi ausencia.A mi esposo Julián por toda su comprensión, amor y muchísima ayuda no solo en el campo sentimental sino resolviéndome dudas, ayudándome con revisiones, lecturas y tantas otras cosas por las que esteré eternamente agradecida.ii RESUMEN La presente tesis doctoral está encaminada al estudio de los procesos que sufren los purines que en lugar de ser tratados serán aprovechados para el abonado de campos agrícolas. El trabajo realizado en dicha tesis se puede resumir en varias etapas.La primera etapa consistió en un montaje experimental de nueve columnas en las que se variaron la longitud y granulometría de la columna de suelo y las dosis de purín aplicadas, siendo la mínima la establecida como tal en la legislación Española actual. Se aplicó un volumen de agua correspondiente a los datos diarios de lluvia de la estación climática de Onda (Castellón).Se realizaron pruebas de laboratorio para obtener diferentes parámetros necesarios para la calibración y posterior utilización del modelo PRZM.3.12.2. Entre ellos se encuentran características físico-químicas del purín, características edafológicas e hidráulicas del terreno empleado, así como parámetros relacionados con el ciclo del nitrógeno en el suelo, entre ellos está la isoterma de adsorción del nitrógeno amoniacal.Con este trabajo experimental se ha pretendido conocer la importancia de los diversos procesos del ciclo del nitrógeno en el suelo (mineralización, nitrificación, desnitrificación y volatilización), evaluar su dependencia a factores externos (granulometría y longitud de la columna de suelo y dosificación de purín), analizar la movilidad y transformaciones del nitrógeno en el suelo y obtener la información necesaria para la calibración del modelo matemático PRZM.3.12.2 de infiltración de las formas nitrogenadas en la zona no saturada.Posteriormente, se realizó un análisis de sensibilidad del modelo PRZM.3.12.2 sobre las constantes con las que se modela el ciclo del nitrógeno y se cuantificó su efecto y tendencia en las formas nitrogenadas lixiviadas y almacenadas en el perfil del suelo, así como también en las reacciones del ciclo del nitrógeno. También se analizó la sensibilidad del programa a variables de entrada difíciles de establecer su valor en el laboratorio como son el porcentaje de fracción refractaria del nitrógeno orgánico del purín y los porcentajes de nitrógeno orgánico lábil y en solución contenidos inicialmente en el suelo.Se calibró el modelo PRZM.3.12.2 a partir de la información obtenida de las columnas experimentales, haciendo hincapié en las variables más sensibles del modelo.
