Blended Learning er en fleksibel tilrettelæggelsesform, der integrerer forskellige former for asynkron interaktion, hvor de studerende tilegner sig det faglige indhold uafhængigt af fælles tid og rum. Fleksible læringsrum appellerer til voksne studerende i et efter- og videreuddannelsesforløb, hvor der ofte er en række individuelle behov at tage hensyn til som følge af den voksnes familie- og arbejdsliv. I denne artikel præsenteres og diskuteres resultaterne af en undersøgelse , der pågik i efter- og videreuddannelsen på University College Nordjylland i efteråret 2018, hvor 45 diplomstuderende deltog i afprøvning af et blended learning-læringsdesign. Formålet med undersøgelsen var at identificere, hvad der har betydning for voksne diplomstuderende, når de er tilmeldt et uddannelsesforløb tilrettelagt som blended learning. Undersøgelsen har identificeret fire forskellige profiler af blendede learnere i et efter- og videreuddannelsesforløb. De fire profiler afspejler en variation i forhold til deltagernes motivation for både læring og for blended learning. Derudover viser profilerne en stor variation i deltagernes læringstilgang samt de læringsforudsætninger og de læringserfaringer, de bringer med ind i mødet med et blended uddannelsesforløb. Undersøgelsens resultater danner udgangspunkt for videreudvikling af blended learning på diplomuddannelserne med læringsdesign, der sigter mod en højere grad af fleksibilitet og individualiserede læringsrum.
Et undervisningsforløb tilrettelagt som blended learning (BL) inddrog ePortfolier som virtuelt værktøj og omdrejningspunkt for social læring og refleksion. Forløbet dannede afsæt for et forskningsprojekt, der ønskede at identificere de læringsfremmende faktorer, som de oplevedes af de pædagogisk diplomstuderende, og at undersøge, om den læring der fandt sted, kunne defineres som refleksiv praksislæring (RPL). I artiklen argumenteres for, at ePortfolie-metodikken skaber mulighed for transparente læringsmiljøer, og at asynkron og skriftlig kommunikation gennem bundne og praksisrettede refleksionsopgaver fremmer udvikling af professionel identitet og professionskompetencer og lægger således op til RPL og udvikling af selvfaciliteringskompetencer. Artiklen præsenterer resultaterne af en undersøgelse, der er pågået i UCNs efter- og videreuddannelsesafdeling i 2021. Formålet var at afdække betydningen af de asynkrone aktiviteter på diplom- og akademiuddannelserne. Undersøgelsen fokus på de læreprocesser, som opstår uden for de formaliserede undervisningsrammer, når planlagte, asynkrone aktiviteter kalder på refleksion med, i og over praksis. Deltagerne i efter- og videreuddannelse er typisk voksne med arbejds- og familieliv, og som derfor har et ønske om geografisk og tidsmæssig fleksibilitet i forhold til uddannelse. Professionshøjskolen UCN har derfor interesse i at udvikle didaktiske designs, der afspejler fleksible, personlige og praksisnære løsninger til studerende i efter- og videreuddannelse. 20 studerende har deltaget i undersøgelsen, hvor det empiriske materiale er indsamlet via interviews, surveys og observationer af studieaktiviteten på læringsplatformen. Resultaterne viser, at når voksne studerende deltager i asynkrone læringsaktiviteter, skabes der ikke bare et geografisk og tidsmæssigt læringsrum, men et forlænget og flerspektivt refleksionsrum med tid og plads til at lære i eget tempo, på egne præmisser og i egen praksis. Det asynkrone læringsrum tilbyder desuden mangfoldige muligheder for inspiration, refleksion og konsolidering af ny viden. Det kræver grundig planlægning, stram styring og særlige underviserkompetencer at få optimal udnyttelse af det asynkrone rums læringspotentiale.
